If possible, see what is being offered before being served; that way, if there are multiple items to make the meal instead of say, a casserole or soup, then you can decide what to get instead of feeling like you need to sample everything.

In that case, a simple; I can't eat xyz would probably suffice if you already have food to eat on your plate.

* Practice portion control; you don't have to eat everything set in front of you. Eat a moderate amount, then stop.

* Stick to a single glass of wine if offered.

* Spend time talking instead of eating.

* Choose only select parties to go to, if possible.

* Eat something small before you go so you aren't too hungry.

* Don't deny yourself, enjoy the time.

Any tips on staying healthy while constantly being invited to dinner parties?
