Thank you all for the advice. Honestly, it is only sometimes painful during "passing", not while eating. I guess I will just switch to tuna fish and carrot sticks and some pieces of block cheese for lunch. That's good, right?

Seeing some undigested remnants when you use the restroom is normal. Feeling "extreme pains" is not. If it hurts to eat something, don't eat it! See your doctor.

In the meantime, can you eat cooked vegetables? If so, still see your doctor, but don't worry too much about your diet. You need vegetables, but that doesn't automatically mean salads. Lettuce isn't particularly nutritious, and both spinach and tomatoes are more nutritious when they're cooked. If the only problem is raw vegetables, you can be perfectly healthy without them.

You need to see your doc asap if this condition has not been formally diagnosed. After you get a diagnosis, you may want to see a Registered Dietician to get ideas on what to eat/what to avoid.

Something isn't right, and strangers on a message board really can't help much, no matter how much we may want to.

You might want to see a doctor to make sure everything is alright, especially if you are having extreme pains from it.

My bf has Chron's disease and fibrous things like apple skins and lettuce can land him in the emergency room. I'm not saying that's what the problem is, I just don't think you should take any chances.

Try to avoid foods that cause you pain until you can see someone.

What does it mean when my body does not fully digest / break down certain foods? For example, I cannot fully digest any lettuce (spinach, etc) or tomato skins?? It has been difficult for me to eat salads for lunch as they cause me extreme stomach pains.
