I found a really interesting article about a survivor from the Pearl Harbor attack who is working to identify the unmarked graves of those who died during the attack.

I had the honor of visiting the Pearl Harbor Memorial a few years ago and I try to remember that all the blessings we enjoy in the United States came as a result of the sacrifices our soldiers made in World War II.

That had a big effect on my dad, he was still in high school at the time, but as soon as he turned 18, he enlisted into the Army. I'm very proud of my dad for serving his country. We lost him in August of 2011.

Yes, this is an important day - especially to the US Navy. As a Navy veteran, I remember this day every year. Thank you for reminding everyone!

I know about this, and have since I was able to put together two phrases intelligibly. See, my father was a HUGE history buff, particularly WWI and WWII history-but all history fascinated him. He never let me forget that I was born 36 years and a day after the Pearl Harbor attack, and I do appreciate that about him. He wanted us to know our history. :)
