If you're comfortable at 1600... it seems so low to me when average man's healthy intake is 2500, but if you're doing for more than 1-lb-per-week loss I suppose you'd have to go lower than a 500-cal-per-day deficit...

I wouldn't ever suggest anyone eat just veggies for dinner... you need some fat to process most of the vitamins in veggies, and you need protein to rebuild your muscles after any working out... just making sure you didn't think I meant that. I meant ADD veggies, not replace any given meal with them emoticon

Rotisserie chicken is such a great convenience food, I agree. Spinach is terrific, too, just make sure you get a little olive oil or something to help you unlock its benefits.

1600 cals should be good. I'm really not working out at all. Currently weigh 185 but anything above 165 is pure fat and 158 would be a lean weight for me now. I feel great on 1500 cals when I'm working out decently, but that's all home cooked and much higher in protein and vegetables.

Another reason for sticking to 1600 when I can is that I know it's only a matter of time where the restraunts chosen for lunch and dinner (which I have no control over) result in no way of avoiding 2000 can day so these 1600s valance those out. Plus it leaves me room for a beer or two at the hotel with them if it comes up. I was at Bjj the last night they sat around and did that and I'd join them next time.

I have a bag of spinach with a rotisserie chicken in my room. Suppose I could just have a salad in the evening or afternoon, even if I don't need the chicken or plain Greek yogurt. Thanks. I think I'll start doing that even when it's not needed for a light dinner replacement.

Wow... from what I can see, you are doing a really impressive job of eating a balanced diet for someone who can't cook at home at all!

I guess my only suggestion would be to try to find a supermarket and grab a container of veggies from the salad bar to snack on, or the pre-cut... everyone could use more veggies. I see you're eating fruit and trying to get a salad in here and there, but more can't hurt!

Is 1600 enough calories for you? I guess if you're a "featherweight," and only doing "light" workouts... but I tend to eat more than that and I weigh 20 pounds less and certainly don't have the kind of muscle definition you do emoticon

Pretty sure my trackers are still public. Making this thread derives as much out of boredom as anything else. Mechanical isn't where they need to be so us electrical engineers have basically nothing to do on site. Flew out on Monday and have been living out of a hotel in Cali and going out to eat for basically every meal with the team. I think I've been doing pretty good for being responsible except for Monday in which I was still reeling from binging Sunday and the chaos of flying was a bit too much.

Haven't been perfect by any means, but I've gotten heckled a couple times for ordering salads or grilled chicken sandwiches. It doesn't bother me near as much as it used to, but it still sucks. Been getting some light workouts in at the crappy hotel fitness center after work before dinner. Also went o a 4 mile run yesterday and even got to a gym to do some training, but at 15 dollars for a drop in I don't think I'll do that much even tho I'd really really like to. I count cardio as about 1/3 in the tracker for what I'm comfortable eating back.

Eating a bit more cals than I usually do at home when I'm doing good, but that's what happens when quality of nutrition and leanness drops
