I like seeing the wheel at the end of the day, but I use the ranges shown for each meal to add/subtract food to try to get as close as possible.

Yep, there are definitely "ranges" for each breakdown. Because I'm hypothyroid, I try to up my protein to the higher end of the range. That would be one example of using the ranges.

Also, remember that you won't ever be exact anyway. I try to look at it as a weekly average. One day I might eat a bit too much fat, the next day I'll often be a little below range in fat.

Yes. That's roughly the centre of the much wider ranges that Spark recommends. Eg I think carbs range is something like 40-60 percent carbs. So you get 50% in the pie chart but don't feel you've failed if you've had 57% or 45%.

It can seem like that's high fat, but fat has 9 calories per gram, whereas carb and protein only have 4. So it takes less than half as much actual fat food weight intake to get those 30% of your calories than it would from carbs or protein.

That's SP's recommendations. I try to aim for 40/30/30 myself, though I'm not always successful.

It's divided 50% carbs, 20% protein and 30% fat, is that correct?
