My pedometer died after it fell in the toilet. My tip. Make sure it is in a secure place when you pee. emoticon

If you know the make and model, you may be able to google for a manual for it?

I guess it depends on how "fancy" it is!? -- Mine has labels on the buttons.
Reset - puts everything to 0.
Mode - allows me to track steps or miles (or km)
Some models will include a cumulative for a week.

You could check online for the model type to see if there is info. -- Otherwise, work the buttons and see what shows up on the little screen. The one thing that will be more difficult to set is your stride (ie how many steps it takes you to walk 100 ft.). Mine still causes me issues to try to set that correctly!

Good luck! -- You can also wear it and walk a distance that you already know and see if the steps taken are "in the ballpark" (ie. @ 2000 steps = 1 mile).

I got a pedometer from my boyfriend's mom and I don't know how to use it. It never came with a book or anything.
