Have you talked to your doctor about the possibility of going to a dietitian ? Because of your medical issues, you may need the help of a registered dietitian to help you craft a menu plan that will not only help you lose weight, but also supply your body will all the vital nutrients it needs to stay healthy. It is also possible that some of the foods you eat may aggravate your medical conditions. another good reason to consult a dietitian.

You don't have your food diary posted. Have you been logging your food or just estimating at how much you've been eating ? Do you use a food scale ? If you've been guessing at your portion sizes, it's possible you may be eating more than you think. That too will keep you from losing.

If you have been mindful of your portion sizes, if you have been eating 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies, if you have been avoiding highly processed foods and treats, then some of your medical conditions may be the reason you're not losing.

However, your doctor would be a better judge of that then any one here on Spark. Talk to your doctor and see if they'll refer you to a dietitian.

What is your current weight and goal weight?

Based on your medical history, your best bet is to start by talking to your doctor about what's going on. They will be able to give more detailed advice, and see if your lack of progress is due to your medical issues.

I need some help. I have been trying to lose weight for 2 years now unsuccessfully. I don't know what else to do. I first started gaining weight when I went to college. It was the freshman 15. And that was fine. Everyone gains some weight the first couple years of college and then sheds it back off later. Unfortunately for me that was not the case. When I was a junior in college I was having awful stomach pains. The only thing I found that made them better was to eat. So for a month I made myself huge meals and tried to fill my stomach as much as I could to keep the pain away. But the pain always came back 1-2 hours later and I would cry until I ate again. I was diagnosed with H. Pylori and took the treatment. At that time I had gained quite a bit of weight because of the constant eating. But I went on a diet immediately after treatment and started exercising. But that was not the end of my medical problems. A couple months after I got rid of the H. Pylori I started having pain during sex. I went to the doctors and for months they had no idea what was wrong with me. The stomach pain came back with my stress about being sick and as the months without a diagnosis went on I was in more and more pain. With the pain came the need to eat. So I did. And I ate whatever I wanted. Eventually, I was diagnosed. I had acid reflux from the stress of doctors, the H. Pylori, being a full-time student and working a full-time job. I also had an ovarian cyst. After trying lots of different treatments we were able to get rid of the cyst and calm the acid reflux. However, by the time this was through I had gained even more weight.
I have been out of college for 3 years now. I have had a steady job for 2. And during those two years I have had a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, whole-grains and dairy. I consume 1200-1300 calories a day. I exercise for an hour 3 times a week. Each time I burn 250-300 calories. I work at a school where I always take the stairs. I drink 96 ounces of water a day. I lead a healthy life. In two-years I have lost 5 lbs.

I feel like I am fighting a losing battle. What am I doing wrong? Is there something still in my stomach that is keeping me from losing the belly fat? Help me, please?
