Not being able to exercise for two weeks WILL NOT make or break your healthy lifestyle. Injuries and recovering from them are something active people have to learn to live with. As long as you are mindful of what you eat, you will not gain weight. When it comes to weight loss or even weight gain, what matters most is what we eat. Good nutrition is what takes the weight off and keeps it off. Exercise is what keeps our bodies fit and healthy. In short, you can't outrun a bad diet with exercise.

As long as you eat right and watch your portions, you'll be fine these two weeks. Listen to your doctor. If they want you to lay off exercise, lay off exercise. it's only two weeks.

Remember healthy living is a lifestyle and while it may feel as though this is a roadblock, it is times like these that you will discover you are in control. Now would be a good time to go into maintenance mode. The reason, restricting calories when your body needs the calories and nutrients to heal, may slow your healing process. This doesn't mean eat the junk, but focus on eating healthy foods that will give your body the nutrients it needs to recover quickly so that you will be back on your feet soon.

Here's to a successful surgery and speedy recovery. Take care!

I'm freaking out because I have just had surgery and I can't do any physical activity for at least 2 weeks. I was doing so well with my eating and exercise plan now this roadblock. How can I get through this without packing on the pounds and losing my motivation? Is there any exercises that can be done while sitting and not using your legs? I would appreciate any suggestions.
