Tomorrow will be one week for me. Woo'oo! And congrats to you because I know how difficult it is! That is awesome!!! Good for you!

I only had one pretty bad craving today. (So I'm past the being miserable every second of every day stage! Yay!!!) My kids were making fun of me for holding my lollipop like a cigarette, lol. But I had more inspiration to feed off of when my son said my hair smells pretty now, not like smoke. : )

To reward myself today, I bought the new wardrobe I've been needing and wanting. I donated all the last of my fat clothes and replaced them with all the sexy, cute, fun clothes I've always wanted to wear! Feels so awesome to just be happy to be me, not always battling to "fix" myself. I'm finally just comfortable. AND, while shopping, I walked right past someone smoking near the mall entrance and I did not have the urge to knock him out and take his cigarette. This is a major improvement for me! I also didn't have to run today to punish myself for cravings. (My legs are thankful for that!) I think I'll be ok soon. : D

Thanks for all the words of support, Sparkers! I've read some of your posts and private messages over and over again during some of my weakest moments. Thank you. : )

Congrats!!! emoticon

And yes, you CAN do this!!! I KNOW how hard it is to quit, and especially cold turkey. But each day DOES get easier!!

I'm happy to say that I am 1 week smoke free!! emoticon I didn't think I could do it, but I KNOW I can now!! It will get easier for ya. I still get cravings, but I don't give in!!

You are worth it!! You are more important than any cigarette! emoticon

Thanks, everybody! On Day 5 and holding strong! Yes, I'm avoiding alcohol for now (rarely drink anyway) and even limiting my coffee. Man, that's painful!!! But for me, smoking and coffee go hand in hand. I'm now experiencing nicotine and caffeine withdrawals--not a good time--but I'm sticking to it! Although, I may have developed an addiction to sour apple Dum Dums. emoticon

I was really discouraged when I got on the scale this morning and had gained another pound! emoticon But I'm tracking everything and being extra careful, so it's not my eating! I think it's water weight from all the V8 juice (my replacement for coffee for now) and running. Still not feeling any better about seeing that number on the scale! Ugh

Not gonna lie, this has been pure hell, but I want this and I'm going to do this. emoticon

Best thing ever you could do for your health. It will be a revelation when you can really taste and smell things again. Every day gets easier. And don't, no matter what, think you can just sneak in one quick smoke or even a puff.

Don't know if you ever drink alcohol, but you might want to avoid that for a good month or two until you have a firmer hold on your addiction. I've seen several quitters relapse from drinking.

Keep up the awesome work! Do you have anything special planned for all of the money you will be saving?

That is AWESOME!!!!!!!

When in your heart and in your head you know you want health more than you want a cigarette, it's really really possible, isn't it?

I've made it through three (loooong) days without a cigarette! Kids fighting, bill paying after Christmas--ouch, insomnia, equally crabby hubby (he's quitting too), and even had to have my car towed to a repair shop after our family dinner to celebrate tonight, ha ha. And I did not smoke!!! emoticon

I made a plan of attack for cravings and went cold turkey. First on the list is "run until lungs burn" and I've run so many miles in the past three days that everything below my waist no longer functions without screaming in agony!!! But the funny thing is that my lungs haven't burned at all...because I'm no longer a smoker! (Never thought I'd be able to say that!) emoticon

I don't care if I have to run for hours every damn day, I'm never smoking another cigarette for the rest of my life. I can do this! I'm free!!! emoticon
