Many studies use about 4-5 servings daily of either green or black tea. The key is to keep caffeine intake to less than 400 milligrams daily for healthy adults. For tea this would be about 40 ounces or less daily---assuming you are not getting caffeine from coffee, soda pops, etc.

I'm seeing more and more recommendations to include 4 cups of black tea in your daily diet. I see that 4 cups over and over. In some cases it is said to help get rid of the "middle age" belly (I'm guessing because it can act as a diuretic).
I adore tea and I know there are health benefits but 4 cups seemed like a lot to me. Not that it isn't easy for me to hit but I would have tried to cut that back to 2.
