I use Runkeeper, which I love! It's available for both Android and iPhone, and can track cycling, as well as running and walking (and other activities, too, though I think you have to enter other things manually).

I love my fitbit force and the app that comes with it. It tracks all your steps plus other features

I used to love MapMyWalk but the GPS function won't work if you're out of service, which, let's be honest, all the good hiking is, so I switched to a pedometer type thing that came with my phone.

I use 3 apps and I like them all.

Let me preface with I have an Android :-)

Google has one called My Tracks. It is basic and super accurate. Gives you your average speed/max speed, etc. plus how long you walked. It is GPS based and will also track where you have walked/run. It has the ability to sync with Google Drive if you want.

I also use MapMyWalk. Also GPS based. You can pre-plan routes and find routes.

On my sister's iphone, I use Moves which I also like. It runs in the background and tracks movements and steps :-)

For those of you that run or walk, what app in your estimation, is good at tracking for either walking or running?
