thanks. I'll start here! that's what i'm looking for, the feeling of being able to move. i'd like to be thinner, but it's NOT my goal. not having a heart attack just cleaning would be my goal. (heh, ok, no risk of heart attack yet, but hell, it feels like it!!!)
check out the SP videos. They can be tailored to beginners. Also check out youtube. Again the videos can be tailored.
I do more HIIT or surge training. I am done in 12 minutes. I do squats, push ups, pull ups with bands, planks, bicep curls, tricep dips, etc. No I do not do all at the same time. I choose 6 exercises and do each exercise for 30 sec three times with a 30 sec rest. I also do them at my highest intensity. I don't compete with my friends. I do what I can.
my doctor told me that your highest intensity can be measured like this-- assume there is a big boulder in front of you and one of your loved ones is beneath it. You have 30 seconds to move the boulder. at least it worked for me. My intensity did increase when imagining that I only have 30 seconds to move the boulder.
i was tired of gasping too. Stairs were a killer. Still obese, but at least I have energy now to do what I have to do.
I'm an obese woman who's decided it's time to stop gasping for breath when walking to the bus, and get inshape. the food stuff I know, it's a no brainer, but exercise is something that's a challenge - both cause i hate it, and cause everything hurts when you are big!
I've checked in with a doctor, and am good to go with anything I want to do, so long as it's low impact. Biking and swiming would be her favorite options - but I don't have a car, so those will only be on special occasions. She did give me specific exercises for my knees, and said "it's going to hurt for 3 months or so, till you get to a decent weight. sorry.." oh joy!
I'd really like exercise videos, cause it feels more social, if anyone has suggestions.
