because of thyroid and adrenal issues ( and the stomach virus) and the single digit temps this week i have not had any outside time, no exercize or housekeeping jobs but hopefully will get out and walk as soon as the weather and my health get better

I would suggest you eat a sensible supper. Low fat protein, vegetables, and small amount of carbs. Tomorrow is another day. Try to keep moving even if you can't do strenuous exercise. I've been through the same kind of days. Sometimes I've gone on a trip or to a party and over done it. Don't let it derail you completely and use it as an excuse to give up.

I think you are doing great and want you to believe that. I think it was a lesson learned, and I would do my best focus on something that makes me happy.
Have you ever done yoga? Does walking bring you pain as well?

Make your next choice a good one. One binge or bad day, even a bad weekend, will not sabotage us so we can't recover! Remeber that you can only fix what you haven't done yet... instead of feeling guilty, chalk it up to a rough weekend, and focus on moving forward. We didn't get where we are by having one bad day, or overdoing it on one meal. We got here by a pattern of consistent overeating.

So, don't keep going on this route. Your next choice will be a healthy one. The one after that... healthy. Don't try to compensate or starve yourself to try and "make up" calories, just eat a balanced, healthy meal, and aim to be in your ranges tomorrow.

You can do this. One step at a time!

Well, ust get back on track asap. And perhaps use this as a learning experience. Maybe for future visits, try and bring some healthy, portable snacks like fruit (apples, oranges, bananas) and/or string cheese and yogurt type things.

I always thought it was harder to lose weight than any other addiction because you have to eat to survive. If I could just not eat that would take care of the problem. Unfortunately, that is not possible. You shouldn't be afraid to eat because fueling your body is the most important part of the process. Small changes can lead to great accomplishments. Months from now you could be sparking how far you've come. You can make the right choices, I know it!

No need to feel guilty. We all have bad days and feeling guilty usually just makes us want to eat more. I say just acknowledge the mistake and pick right up where you left off -- with a normal, healthy dinner.

I don't know if it makes you feel any better but I feel the same way after eating what is considered "not healthy". Try to remember it isn't about one item we eat, it's about the big picture. How you respond is the key. Stay positive! I hope you are feeling better soon!!!!!

I ate cake and ice cream yesterday and I don't even know why. Today I am doing some extra motivational reading. Always perks me up. No cake today, not on my watch :)

Today has been a disaster. Yesterday I accidentally went waaaay over my calorie count (we were staying by relatives for the weekend and they literally only had bread, some fatty spreads, and dessert) so I feel guilty and antsy. I've been sick for several weeks so I haven't been able to exercise as much as I'd like and today was no exception...I'm under strict orders not to take any antacids until the doctor can figure out what's wrong and cardio HURTS because of my GERD. So I ended up moping around, tense, for much of the day. . . and forgot to eat lunch.

Do I eat a normal meal tonight (in a few hours - I'm in class now), or should I be concerned about missing calories?
