I donated most of my plus size clothes. I did keep one pair of size 20 jeans to remind myself never to allow myself to get to that size again.

I sold, consigned and donated almost everything. Still have a few more things bagged up to go but that's about it. I have photos-- they are bad enough I don't want the clothes. Was a little sad to see a few favourite things go but happy to use the cash and or store credit towards my smaller wardrobe.

No! I don't want something to fall back upon if I start gaining my weight back. NO excuses this time around!

PCASEY7-no you did NOT just "yikes" at a size 18...
I'm just now fitting into a 24 from a 26! I can hardly wait to get into an 18 again!

Yes I'm hanging on to one pair of size 18 (yikes!) jeans as a reminder now that I'm into size 6!
Most everything else has already been donated to Salvation Army.

I have this one sweater made from silk, that I love despite it's 5 sizes too big, that I can't seemto part with. I'm keeping 1 pair of my biggest jeans to remind myself where I came from, and everything else goes.

12/13/12 9:31 A

only as long as I need them, not a minute longer....
for sentimental reasons I will keep one thing, the" mother of the bride dress" from last year, I might even have it altered....

Depends, but most things will either be just a little looser or I'll take it in.

No, but I do take in things that are loose to extend their usefulness to me.

I meant to hold on to one item for the reminder too. But when I started cleaning out my closet, I got so excited seeing all the big clothes go away that I forgot. I do have a pair of shorts that were too small when I started working out, but I got into fairly quickly, so I kept them.

12/10/12 1:01 P

When I was ready, I donated all of my re-wearable clothing to another Spark Member. I posted some photos and someone contacted me and off they went- work clothing mostly, and a few cocktail dresses.

I got a kick out of packaging prettily and sending it off like a true surprise gift.

I encourage you to do the same!

I just kept one size up so that I have something to wear during that time of month. And I think I will keep a pair of to big pants.

I agree you can wear a belt with shirts. Fix them up so they have a little more staying power.

Shirts have more staying power than pants. I can probably turn shirts that get too big and convert them into tunics, and wear them 80's style, with leggings and big hair and ridiculously large hoop earings.

my size change wasn't anything drastic (at my largest, I wore a 12).

I've purged most of it (charity, some to my sis, some to the church). But I kept some of my t-shirts that I can't let go of. One is from my brother's Army division when he was in Iraq. One is from a favorite band (Sister Hazel). And a few others that I just like.

I hadn't thought about this... I don't think I will hang on to any fat clothes. I never plan on going back there and I don't think my results will be drastic enough to take a big pants photo. So far I've lost 17 pounds and the only real change is that my clothes are a bit baggy now... Once I drop a little more weight, I'll probably just get new clothes and donate all of the things that no longer fit.

I don't intend to need them either. I'm just going to hang on to them(this one pair of jeans) for my after pictures, as I said in the original post. I will be donating the rest to charity...also said in the original post.

I have stowed away one size larger, but not because I think I will get in them again. I'm only holding on to them because I don't know if something crazy happens when I ever go through menopause, LOL.

I hope to stay my current size and never get bigger.

No, I'm donating all my big clothes to the Salvation Army.

12/10/12 2:58 A

No, I never intend to let myself get that heavy again so I am donating them. If I begin to gain my tight clothes remind me to increase my effort to stay on track.

12/10/12 2:19 A

It never before occurred to me to do so. I've given most of my clothes to Goodwill as I've shrunk out of them. But now thinking on it, I think it might help to hang on to a couple of items as both a reminder and encouragement to maintain the results.

I gave mine all away. I have a fat photo of me and that's reminder enough.

I gave away ALL of my size 22 and 24's because I couldn't bear to look at them anyway. Plus I would rather be dead than have to wear them again. But now I wish I had kept just one pair to compare my new jeans to in a photo. :(

I did hang on to a couple of pieces. One day, I do plan on doing a James Coco type photo with a pair of size 18 pants I once wore.

I donated most of my good larger sizes to charity. The tattered stuff I tossed. I kept a couple of pieces to remind me of where I once was and how far I progressed.

I know many people say toss all the fat clothes so that you're not tempted to eat your way back into them. But I disagree. I do feel we should keep a couple of pieces of a reminder of how much we did change.

I just noticed my q is missing another "to." Sorry. Are you going to hang on TO any fat clothes.

I have decided that yes, I am going to hold on to those size 26 jeans that you see me proudly pulling away from my body in my current avatar. The rest I will give to a charity. (I have a pair of size 26 purple fleece pants that I just bought in September that I haven't even worn yet, but can't wear now, because...they're too big!) I am going to keep this one pair of jeans to do comparison photos, and also to remind myself where I do NOT want to EVER be again. Freaking big enough for parasailing with. *cries*
