I am a Veteran, I never think to ask about discounts, maybe now I will. Thanks!

My dad's been in the army for almost 27 years and we're pretty modest about using (what we call) "the army card." We don't use it for frivolous expenses but for things we need like home appliances or if we're getting a new car, then yes.

Yes they don't usually advertise it , but ask cause sometimes these discounts are quite a bit especially if your buying a major appliance and we all go to Lowe's and Home Depot Spring is almost here and getting our yards ready for summer so don't forget to ask..

No, never even thought about it but will start asking for them. Hubby and I are both vets.

My daughter is in the Air Force and she always asks about the military discount. We were at Vera Bradley the other day and they took 10% off for the discount, in addition to the sale of 40% off. Our local Chick-fil-a gives a 50% discount, but that is rare. One of her local grocery stores has Military Monday - a discount of 10% off on the day the Commissary is closed. You never know if you don't ask.

I wonder how many veterans even ask stores if they have military discounts , believe me there are quite a lot that give them. I know near me there's a huge outlet called the Wrentham Outlets and they give discounts as does Home Depot, Lowe's and we go to the movies and see them for 5 bucks! Yes even movie theaters have discounts and we saw Oz the great and powerful in 3 D for 15 bucks without the military discount it would of been 40 Bucks! So it's wise to ask the stores if they offer them the worst they can say is no, but if they say yes it's money in your pocket...
