I'm reading & following The Beauty Detox Solution by Kimberly Snyder. She has always been fit & healthy - but had a problem with belly fat. She claims that her diet fixed that - which is predominantly raw. You might try the book, her Green Glowing Smoothie I make daily and adore it. She's spot on with a lot of her eating. I really like her section on the Ph of food and how to eat & food pairing. KT

For women, abs actually appear around 15% (if you're not skinny fat). But redshoes is right. Diet, diet, diet. The saying abs are made in the kitchen is true.

If you just search "belly fat" here on SparkPeople, you'll find everything from articles to messageboard postings to whole SparkTeams devoted to belly fat loss!

There are lots of us here working on belly fat! I read a piece by Dr. Oz recently that encouraged the use of vinegar (1 tsp/day) and green tea to battle belly fat, so that's my current strategy!

Good luck -- keep us posted on your success!

I find that besides crunches, bike riding and swimming helps

Belly fat stays until you get down to about 9% body fat. Look at male and female models or for that matter high school and college wrestlers. All the above have to keep the fat off or their out of work or disqualified from competition. If they can do it, we can do it.

I've heard that abs are 70% what you eat and 30% exercise.

It is what we eat Eowyn- tell mom to avoid feeding you salty and deep fried food- also on a serious note where do you have your dialysis tube operated in? Suggestion be careful with crunches if you have the tube operated the stomach muscle area.. Repairing hernias is painful stuff..
Try to be kind to yourself being a dialysis patient... It is frustrating, but I truely believe meeting other dialysis patients each day without complications is a blessed gift from God..

Permanently! I'm doing crunches & cardio, I tracking my food, what else must I do?
