We are often told that this health and fitness journey is a marathon not a sprint and as cliché as that sounds I think it is important to remember that most marathon runners talk about "hitting the wall" and it is the time when they just have to push through. This sounds like one of those times for you. The problem with so much of what you are describing is that all these emotions and behaviors feed off each other. Stress causes lack of sleep and mindless eating; lack of sleep increases stress and mindless eating; mindless eating leads to weight gain and weight gain causes us to put more pressure on ourselves and it starts all over.
This journey is 100% between the ears and I find if I am going to be successful and resist temptation I have to set my mind ahead of time and then I have to keep it set. If you know someone is going to have treats to offer you at work, bring some healthy snacks with you so you have a choice. While they are eating the sugary snack, you can have your healthy one. Keep a water bottle with you at work because water does keep you full and gives you energy (even if you are sleep deprived). If you are able to get away for a few minutes while at work, take a short walk outside to clear your head and release the stress.
It's hard to focus when you have so much going on so why not take some time in the morning and at night to journal your feelings and like ARCHIMEDESII said "accentuate the positive" and plan for ways to avoid the negatives.
And whatever you do, leave your work at work! We work to live not live to work and you cannot allow the stresses of your job to impact the progress you have already made.
Stay strong and congratulate yourself for recognizing that you needed encouragement and support.

As the old song goes,"accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Give yourself credit for all the POSITIVE things you do for yourself and don't beat yourself up because you're not perfect.

I'm a firm believer that stress is a neglected aspect of weight gain. If a person could reduce their stress, they'd automatically reduce their waistline. I understand that your job is stressful and you're doing the right thing by looking for a new job. However, keep in mind, that you do have a job that's helping to pay your bills.

I was laid off last July. It took me 10 months to find the contract job I am currently working. Believe me, job stress is a lot better than looking for work stress. So, do your best to start looking for the positives that are going on in your life. And if you don't feel you have enough positives, then start making some changes. It doesn't have to be anything drastic.

If you know you've been eating too much junk, try to eat a little better. Even if the only healthy thing you do for yourself today is drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.

And start thinking of ways to reduce your stress. a little regular exercise goes a long way towards decreasing stress as well as depression. So, how about taking a daily 30 minute walk ? If you feel that you're ready for a change, then you need to be proactive.

When you lack adequate sleep you tend to overeat!! In order to relax despite work related stress, try taking 5 mg of melatonin about 30 min before you want to fall asleep for the night. Then try some 'meditative' one nostral at a time breathing. Things will get better! A small setback doesn't mean you're spiraling out of control- just catch yourself : )

I have been doing well this past year but over the past few months, my job has been stressful and I feel really tired all the time and I have been eating for energy. I am looking for a new job and it's slow going with the mental fog. I am not sleeping well. I am over eating. My resistance is at a low and I am craving and eating all sweets I am offered.

I feel really bad after I eat this crap but am mindlessly doing so. I have gained back five pounds over the last two weeks. I am exercising but not enough to combat what I am shoveling into my face. I really don't want to let it all slip away but it feels like I am on a downward spiral. Will someone catch me with some supporting words? I really need spark support right now.
