I like to roast them with spices and rosemary. YUMMY! They are so good that way that I don't dare make them very often.

I buy unsalted roasted almonds. I pack them in snack bags to help with portion control. I don't care so much for raw almonds.

I also don't like the taste of plain almonds so I don't eat them. There are so many other things that you could eat. That you wouldn't have to plug your nose and hold your breath to swallow them.

I wouldn't eat them if I didn't like them!
But, I like them maybe too much so I only eat them unsalted and that seems to stop me from eating more than I should. I can control myself with pretty much any other kind of nut, except pistachios!

Blue Diamond Wasabi Soy almonds are really, really good. The flavorings only add about 3 calories per ounce, so you can count them almost like regular almonds in terms of calories. Almonds are very nutritious. However, if you have a tendency to stress-eat, tasty almonds probably aren't the way to go, they have to be eaten in moderation.

I cut them and add them to a stir fry.... I also throw them in the blender to make pesto with fresh basil. I sit them on my desk near the computer because as Edgar Cayce said 3 almonds a day prevents cancer.

Almonds have protein and fat which keep you full but there are other foods that are similar. So in my opinion if you don't like almonds or nuts then pick a different fat/protein combo. Some snack ideas
String cheese and fruit
Hard boiled eggs
Hummus and veggies
Yogurt and fruit
Do you like peanut butter put some on celery or an apple

I sometimes chop a few almonds into my Greek yogurt and add a tablespoon of honey. It's a delicious treat!

Look up recipes for toasting them in the oven. Cinnamon and stevia/honey/sugar and oil would be delicious!

Almond Nut Butter?

If you don't like them, why eat them? If you must eat them, how about adding them to smoothies or get Natural Almond Meal and add it to baking or your cereal.

Have you tried any that are flavoured? I have a bag of Roasted Chilli & Lime flavoured Cashews, and would assume that Almonds come in various flavours, too - just be careful of the sodium.

I enjoy them oven roasted and slightly salted as a snack, made into sugar-free marzipan (soak overnight, drain, mince while adding powdered erythritol until right consistency and sweetness is obtained) or finely chopped in my gluten-free low-carb crisp-breads.

Still, if you really don't like them, why eat them? Almonds are not bad for you in moderation, but not in any way essential for good health either. Fill up on the foods you like instead!

If you are thinking adding more nuts and seeds to your diet would improve it, why not try branching out past the almonds? My personal favorites are pumpkin seeds, walnuts and sesame seeds.

For stress eating, I find that raw veggies work especially well for me. Because for me it is the action of eating that makes me feel better in stressful situations. And veggies are so low in calories that I can eat and eat and eat before doing any real damage to my calorie allotment.

That doesn't help with the almonds at all, but I agree with those who said don't waste calories on something you don't like.

I make a baked granola that has chopped almonds and cashews in it. You can chop as small as you like.
here is the recipe if you would like to try. nutrition info is for 1/2 a cup, I usually put in a 1/4 cup in my greek yogurt. And sometimes just grab the chunks to munch on.

I have to agree with LEC - calories are too valuable to spend them on things that we don't enjoy very much, especially with a high calorie item like almonds (and a lot of flavorings include sugar, so there's even MORE calories).

Granola bars, fruit, peanut butter and crackers, cheese and crackers are my go-to snacks. Instead of trying to cram something you don't like in to your diet, it's ok to pick something else that you do! :)

I've heard of dusting them with cocoa powder. The unsweetened stuff is about 10 calories/tsp. Also, if I'm just looking for something to keep my mouth busy, I'll chew gum instead.

Well i've tried eating different nuts, epescially the way they make them "roasted, honey roasted, salted, non salted" I was talking with a friend about hand snacks, small healthy stuff thats healthy to eat, small stuff. I am a stress eater. I'll either be so stressed i eat anything and everything, or nothing at all and be starved. My job is high stress some nights. I already keep grapes but am looking for something to keep me feeling full. My friend had said nuts, we went on a talk about the differnet ways cashews and peanuts come flavored and if flavored is actually healthy...... etc.... Anyways. Ive never been a fan of almonds, and thought, well, wonder if they can be made in other ways to taste better.... Smothering them in ketchup doesnt sound a healthy idea.... lol.

They're mixed in with trail mix I keep at the office to snack on and at some point I stopped eating around them. But a question: if you don't like them, why not just try some other nuts like peanuts, cashews, or brazil nuts?
