I began drinking unsweetened soy milk, switched to unsweetened almond milk a few years later. Although I like both (don't drink it but use it on cereal) I just tried coconut milk due to its lower sugar content, it's pretty bland but does the trick on cereal. I think it would also work better in cooking. Using unsweetened almond milk makes things taste a bit off when cooking.

Use Silk unsweetened Almond Milk on everything that calls for milk. LOVE IT.

Update: I finally broke down and purchased unsweetened almond milk... and we found a winner! I used it in my rasberry/blueberry smoothie, sweetened with honey and I liked it better than the original with milk :) It took only a few cups of coffee and tea to start getting used to it and even enjoying it in those beverages.

I'm not a milk drinker, haven't been since I was a kid. But I've taken a shining to Silk almond milk for my cereal, vanilla flavor.

I do not drink milk, but use it in cereal and I love unsweetened almond milk and coconut milk for that. I was really impressed with all the calcium in almond milk and the low low calories! but I think the coconut milk tastes better.....have not tried either whe making mashed potatoes or gravy, just use skim dairy for that
None taste like cows milk. But they offer great alternatives and flavor! I like almond over soy. I have tried rice milk and really liked it on cereal. I think you have to look to be sure to get the one without sweeteners added.

Everyone's taste is different. Try one, then another, etc. until you find one that works for you.
I drink Silk and use it in all my recipes that call for milk. I've been drinking it for several years now because cow's milk makes me very ill. I can eat aged cheese but whole milk especially does not work for me. I recommend if you love iced lattes, try a glass of Silk, add a single serving of Tasters Choice Instant Coffee and sweeten with Agava nectar, stir well and serve over ice. I gave some to my oldest daughter and she said it was delicious and didn't believe me that it was made with Silk.
My choice would be almond breeze. I can't remember the fat content but skim milk has 0 fat.

What I love best about Almond Breeze almond milk is you can get it totally unsweetened. I use original for adding to most recipes but for drinking or adding to sweeter recipes (like pancakes or something) I use vanilla, as even unsweetened it's very sweet tasting.
Vanilla almond seems a bit sweet for me even though I drink vanilla soy. I would go with plain almond milk first. I prefer Almond Breeze for almond milk and Silk vanilla for soy. Enjoy! You will get addicted because no tummy aches like you can get drinking a full glass of cows milk and it's o much better in cereal.
I really don't like any of them. They are not the same as real dairy milk. And I drink so little milk, that when I do, I want the real thing.
I have tried almond and soy milk. If someone forced me to choose, I would pick almond. Soy milk tastes icky to me and there's that little allergy I have.

I completely agreed with Yellowfahlia. None of them tastes like cows milk, but several of them are good.
Id suggest you try a few and see what suits you best.

I don't think any of them taste like milk, but I prefer the taste of almond milk over the soy milk.

I drink Silk Almond Unsweetened Vanilla (35 calories a cup) daily and have for months. I like it a LOT better compared to regular milk. I don't drink it by itself much, I mainly use it in oatmeal, shakes, etc. It has a nutty flavor to it though. I have tried soy but it's been a very long time.
