I accidentally stumbled upon making groupings with my own entered foods. I started off with a bunch of foods from the database and my favorites and put them into a meal. Then I clicked make a grouping that appears above the meal. It picked up all the items in that meal. I then deleted the ones I didn't want.

I learned something new with this thread. I didn't realize I could add from favorites when compiling a recipe.

Yes it would greatly improve the experience of tracking if one was able to add to groupings from the favourites list.

I was about to start a new post when I found this one. I too wish I had access to my favorites when creating a food grouping. This feature is already worked out in the RECIPE CALCULATOR. If you go to the RECIPE CALCULATOR and select ADD AN INGREDIENT, a new window pops up with a line for ADD FROM FAVORITES. We simply need this same functionality when creating a grouping.

It is a bit discouraging when i look and see that this posting is about a year old. That's a long time for a change this simple.

I agree, please make it so we can add favorites to a food grouping, it would make creating food groups much easier.

I don't know how to add to a 'Food Group', but, to add to your favorites -

- Click the 'Add a Food Not in my Meal Plan' button
- on the right, click on Enter Food not listed
- Name it, save N/I, save and close pop up
- Will appear in athe Add a food window, choose your serving info & meal to add it to.
***check the box (if it's available, I think it saves it to fave's automatically if you create a food not listed) to add it to your favorites.

Works for me

I can't get that to work either. I just find something as close to what I was trying to enter as I can and use that.

It's sort of half the case it doesn't work and half the case it does.

Your thread title is about adding Favorites to food groupings. You can't do that.

However, your content in your post is about adding manually entered foods, not foods from the database, into food groupings. You can do that. The option to "search foods I've manually entered" is there at the bottom of the add food window, just as it is when adding the food to your day.

The only thing missing when adding to food groupings is the Favorites window. But you are definitely not restricted to the database foods only. You just might find it a little strange trying to find your favorite foods if you're used to using "favorites" when adding them to your day.

That is a good idea. I'll try that until they get this feature in place :) (Hopefully!)

I've had the same issue and have tried to work around it by actuall listing the items as a "recipe" and including that on my's not quite the same, but it saves time when I have favorite standbys that I keep returning to.

That option "SEARCH MANUALLY" does not appear on the screen when I am adding foods to a food group. emoticon

Are they foods you have manually entered? If so, click the "Search Manually Entered Foods" button before you search and they should come up.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen

I have not figured this out and so am making the suggestion.

When I make my own FOOD GROUPS on my nutritional tracker, I would like to use some of my favorites that I had added through the option "Enter foods not listed". As far as I can tell, the only foods I can add are foods already on the regular database.

Am I missing something or is this missing and perhaps a feature that would be added?
