I can see you have been going through a lot...losing a child is just not the natural way of things. We have a few things in common. Doing something is important... and I am sure sparkpeople is a great choice. I also returned after quite some time together, we will continue forward to a healthy lifestyle.

I am so sorry about your loss. How tragic that your lovely daughter died so young. I think that it's great that you rejoined SP. After devoting so much time to care for your loved one, it's nice that you are now focusing on something positive for yourself: your health. I bet your daughter would be proud of you. You sound like an awesome mom. Best of luck to you here on SP. Remember to surround yourself with love and support. xo

I have rejoined Sparkspeople after an almost 2 year absence. I have had a really rough past few months with the death of my daughter from cancer at the age of 45. Everything not nailed down went in my mouth. Obviously did not solve anything other than making my hips wider and my self esteem lower. I have also joined our local Weight Watchers 360 program to help me track my intake and to give me a focus and accountability to to me, my friends and the group. I stopped exercising last fall to spend as much time with my daughter as I could. When she passed away a month later, I did not have the energy to do anything. Now 2 months later, I have to get back on the horse so to speak so I can be there for her daughters, age 15 and 20. Joining the members of Sparkspeople again gives me the prospective that others are having the same battle as I, so I know I am not alone. Thanks to all of you for being out there for me and all the others who have stories like mine. emoticon
