If you've been eating those foods for 3 months and haven't experienced that symptom yet, it is highly unlikely that you will experience it. NOT everyone has that reaction. Most people however do get gas from eating a lot of the traditional gassy foods like cabbage, beans, etc. If you don't now, you won't. However, if you go and eat 3 lbs of cabbage, even if you've never had gas from cabbage before, well, just don't be surprised if you get it.

Most people's bodies adjust to this after a while anyway. It's hardly the end of the world. If it becomes a problem, just excuse yourself to the bathroom - why would that be a problem? I'm sure your gym and workplace have a restroom?

I have ALWAYS eaten a really high fibre diet - generally between 42 and 50 grams daily.

There are two things that I have lived by with regard to that, and I hope no-one takes offense!

1) It's better to fart and bare the shame, than keep it in and bare the pain!

2) Where-ever you be let the wind blow free

Some people tend to go from very little fibre to a lot of fibre rather quickly, and for a lot, this will have 'unsavory' effects.

It is normal that in the beginning there is plenty of gas. It should subside in a couple of months unless there is an intolerance of some kind to some food eaten.

I'm really not enjoying this at all! I have been eating whole foods for about 3 months now. I read an article about what foods cause gas and it mentioned cabbage, broccoli, oatmeal, apples, beans....HELLO!! These are all foods that I eat. Does anyone have a problem with gas? (not saying that I do) How come I never hear about this certain side effect? Surely I hear how its suppose to be good for you and help you lose weight but at what cost? Gassing everyone out? How can you go to work or the gym with this problem?
