It is quite difficult with two small children to find the time and energy to get a workout in! I am hoping to get the opportunity to train for a 5K this summer. I think that will keep me from becoming "lazy" about my workouts.
I am also journeying to a healthier me. My diet has improved considerably and I think I am feeling better for it, even if the weight is not falling as I would like.

I have issues with low blood sugar so I have to always eat or drink something. So, instead of a rapid weight losss I'm working on a slow weight loss. Just changing what I drink and what I eat has contributed to a slow weight loss. I was 164 in December. Now I am 158.
I barely eat or want sweets now since I changed my eating patterns. Adding fresh veggies each day has been a benefit as well. After a few months I got used to eating the healthier foods.
These past few months for me have been about getting healthy and losing weight. I had started "trying" around Christmas time, but really kicked into gear when i got a kick in the pants by the doctor at the end of January. I went in for a well visit and to get bloodwork done because i was feeling tired all the time. One of the first things the dr mentioned was that I was considered obese, which puts me at higher risk for a LOT of health problems that happen to already be family heath problems, mostly high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. She also referred me to a pulmonologist to set up a sleep study and check for sleep apnea. Results from the blood work came back about a week later and it turns out my cholesterol is already really high at the age of 24. They didnt prescribe any meds but told me that i really need to get my weight in control and exercise to hopefully get those numbers down. That was blow number 1.
The second blow was when I got the results back from the sleep study. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. There's not much that can be done for a mild case of sleep apnea. What could i do to help alleviate some of the sleep apnea? You guessed it...lose weight.
It is only by the grace of God that i have made it as far as i have in this journey. When I started I was nearly 230lbs. This note is marking a milestone for me... today I weigh 200lbs, a weight i havent been at since 2007 when i was pregnant with Krystal.
My journey is not over yet. I still have about 30-40 pounds left to lose. I thank God for how far I have come and know that i wouldn't have made it this far without His help, I cannot do this on my own. I rejoice today for this progress, and pray that I will continue to make more progress.
