i use the stivia instead of splenda and i put in mini muffin tins less messy and easy, i fig 45 cal but this says 28 i think because i use the mini muffin and they r little bigger

Chocolate cheesecake recipe .. LOVE this idea. I am fighting the night munching issue BIG TIME, and need to find healthy alternatives and have them available so I don't push myself over my calorie count! Loving the ideas here! Thank You!

I had a snack attack last night, but because I just felt like munching I grabbed a 1 lb bag of
baby carrots and munched away until I hit about 65-75 calories- that did the trick that time, although sometimes I have to resort to micro popcorn! emoticon emoticon

Lately I have been having 2 or 3 Nips candy while reading after going to bed and making them melt in my mouth. Helps somewhat. Evening is my hardest time too.

ok i made these chocolate cheese cake bites from SP and only 30 cal and r great for that munchies attack at night, u can have 3 and still be under 100 cal

I Also like to snack at night and I definitely have a sweet tooth! So whats been helping me is that I buy snacks that I like enough to satisfy me but I dont like them so much that I'll binge on them. I like caramel rice cakes and popsicles, each 40 and 50 calories so even if I did have 2 or 3 its still low cal! Hope this helps someone emoticon

i went out and got the weight watches ice cream, 140 cal and not that bad, between the skiny cow and WW ice cream its just enough to take the cravings away,
was a ruff wk with food but made it to the gym 5xs this wk so hope Mon the scale will move down.

my worst time is 4 to 5 in the afternoon so try to do something with my hands that requires them to stay clean like sewing or making my yarn hangers and have plenty of water close by
in the evenings am on the computer and do not allow food or drink near it
continue to take one day at a time and best wishes

I am like you. I just want to munch all evening. Like right now I am eating sugar free popsicles. They are only 15 cals each and you can have several, but I bet after 3 you are satisfied. They are sweet, you can chew them, suck them---. and strangely enough they calm down your urge to munch until you are in control. Try it-- what have you got to lose?

I had/have a similar problem with evening cravings. What I've tried is to make a bunch of unbuttered popcorn. I mostly wanted to chew, and although ice cream is a lot more tasty, the popcorn chewing pretty much satisfied that need. Plus, it was filling.

going to bed is really a good answer to this problem it also allows you to get the sleep that you are supposed to be getting and then in the morning your are ready to eat a good breakfast. Brushing your teeth as helped for me too. emoticon

yeah... I just posted a similar question. I am good with the Skinny Cow icecream sandwiches myself and they have lots of cool flavors, but my boyfriend will eat more than one at a time which totally defeats the purpose. I do like blending 1/2 c greek yogurt with a pkt of stevia 1/2 frozen banana and a few frozen strawberries then adding a T of sugar free chocolate syrup. My problem is not icecream, it's eating at night even when I am not hungry. My fix for this in the past was to go to the gym from approximately 7-9 (including travel/changing time), then to allow myself a small protein rich snack like the yogurt or some cereal with milk before showering and bed. Not been doing so well getting to the gym lately.

I find that nuts do the trick for me and a piece of fruit usually grapes chew very slowly, emoticon drink emoticon k water I find this helps tremendously , perhaps this might help good luck!! :-)

l try to make sure l drink plenty of water throughout the day - l'm talking 12 glasses, not just 8. Then in the evening every while l brush my teeth, the minty taste puts me off snacking, from time to time l'm still struggling with temptation so l just go to bed early & watch tv or sleep, but don't go back near the kitchen. The next morning l'm always so glad l didn't give in to temptation. You'll never regret a time you didn't cheat.

I am fighting the urge to eat right now. I cannot sleep because I am craving pizza (that is in the fridge right now) and ramen noodles (in my pantry RIGHT NOW) I am doing so well this week and boy am I feeling it right now. BE STRONG!!!

Also, you could try freezing some banana, and then mashing it with your favourite flavour of protein powder (my personal favourite is cookies&cream), Makes an ice cream -like texture and tastes just as good, with no fat and added sugar!

Lots of good advice here. I have used low fat frozen yogurt that really tastes like ice cream. Unfortunately my late night cravings are usually the salty ones. And once I start I have a really hard time stopping.

I have the same problem and have just started planning for it. I keep some healthy options around and save calories in my plan for later at night. I could spend the rest of my life fighting it, but for now this works.

I do keep some healthy choices around, but some nights I feel like PacMan, eating everything in my path.

I also have a problem with the night munchies. I can do good all day be satisfied and then I lay in bed to watch tv and bam the thought of delicious candy( that my husband always brings home from work) is sitting a few feet away and hmmmmm one wount hurt. I am not sure if it's a need to eat or the habit of it but it is so tough for me to say no.The only thing I find that works is to have a big glass of water tuck in good turn over and sleep lol. Good luck

I don't have any advice for reducing the finally-at-home-! cravings (which I battle against daily) but for an after dinner treat I like to mix unsweetened applesauce with plain yogurt. It makes it smooth, creamy, and sweet enough. Sometimes I add cinnamon or a few chopped nuts or something. Of course I only do this occasionally because if I have applesauce or yogurt in the house, I eat the whole thing in one day. Terrible but true.

I don't care for the Skinny Cow line. Have you ever looked at the labels for those things? I can't pronounce many of the ingredients or know what they are. Personally, I have found focusing on clean eating and getting rid of the processed stuff has really reduced my cravings. Companies spend millions on finding just the right combination of fat, sugar, texture, salt, flavor, etc. to make you crave their products. No wonder you find it hard to resist.

As others have said, the body has no idea what time it is. You can eat a night time snack if it's counted in your calories. I find I need one. When I skip, I have a tendency to wake up at night and have to grab something anyway. The interrupted sleep isn't worth it and can make things worse.

I like having a small, healthy protein shake before bed and it tastes a lot like ice cream. I usually use a half scoop of protein powder, plain yogurt and almond or soy milk with frozen berries or frozen banana.

ya i make sure i plan my meal first thing in the morn, but some reason as soon as i am home i just want to snack, i make sure i keep almonds and yogurt and dole fruit...only in winter i use dole or fresh when i can..
i have done fairly well on staying in my cal/fat/carb, range but pass few days seeing no ice cream in house i am munching on every thing, ( cheese, peperoni, wheat thins, almonds ) things like that,
i am going to go tonight get more skinny cow or slim fast treats for my evening snacks so my husband will stay married to me lol

There's a good amount of evidence to suggest that the whole "don't eat after *6/7/8pm*" thing is a weight loss myth. Your food doesn't treat your 8pm calories any differently than it treats your 6pm calories -- and calories can't tell time!

[Now, it is true that if you go to bed too full, or too hungry, you might not be able to sleep as well, but that's a story for another day.]

So the real goal is to make sure that the number of calories that you eat through the course of the day (morning, afternoon, evening, or night) do not exceed your range. There is a SP article by nutritionist Becky Hand that goes into more detail about this here:

There are lots of little things that you can do to try to accomplish this (adjust the timing of your meals so that you're less likely to feel dissatisfied in the evening, cut some calories from your meals/snacks throughout the day to accommodate an evening treat, etc.) but the most important thing is that you incorporate what you eat in the evenings, whatever and whenever that is, into your meal plan for that day. If you know that you're going to eat it, plan for it and make adjustments.

i love the skinny cow ice cream and was getting them and satisfied me but i am trying hard not to have it every night, i quit coffee and switched to tea no cream or sugar that was not that bad but the no eating after 7 pm is hard and the no munchies every night even harder.
not giving up i have come too far for that, i even got that gum that taste like mint chip, well its gross lol and im not a gum chewer either, love fruit but hard this time to buy fresh i get the dole SF peaches and that i have for lunch every day.

Well. If it's just because you're used to the ice cream every night.... you could either set aside some calories every day, to have a treat of ice cream (one serving is only 1/2 cup though). There are even Skinny Cow (for example) ice cream things, you could have one every day. Or you could substitute something similar to ice cream, that you really enjoy. Like a lowfat yogurt with some fruit. I buy bags of frozen fruit-- you can make yourself a parfait, like they have at McDonald's.

Or you can go "cold turkey" and break your habit of ice cream. Really, it's your choice. No food is "off limits".

first thing in morn i log what im am going to eat all day, i pack my lunch and make sure i eat breakfast at home. din i try to cook sp recipes.
now here is the prob, i get home and i start to much and i am going crazy at night looing for munchies....none in house for the pass 3 days....i am getting grumpy at night having ice cream with draws, i grab my water but not what i want.
any help on fighting the erg at night/ driving my husband crazy, and no im not hungry just use to the ice cream every night
