Also from the NW and just started walking to the gym/pool just over a mile away and with fall approaching I am planning ahead, actually called mom and requested a HUGE umbrella for my birthday...getting up at 6 am and hauling myself to the pool in the dark, cold, wet...I want a giant umbrella...but ain't nothing stopping me!
The rain and snow don't really bother me. What I can't stand is excessive heat. But my gym membership helps to prevent the heat, snow, rain and dark of night from keeping me from my workouts.

I love to go walking in the rain & running in the snow.

I've been caught in the rain while running or riding my bike. As others have mentioned, as long as there is no lightning I don't mind. When it's really hot out, I welcome a cooling shower. Of course it gets really steamy when the rain stops.
and I have run a 5k or two in the snow. I've run many in the rain. If I paid for the race, I'm running it! No picking up my t-shirt and leaving. I will admit I've been tempted...but I persevered and ran in the snow.
I've worked out in the rain, but I am way too much of a wimp about cold. Not to mention that I am very uncoordinated and would probably break my head. I will be hitting the gym more when it's snowy here.
