I'd go with the larger count.
I don't use the meal plan, so I can't make a call on that

I do all my meal tracking BodyMedia for that exact reason.

That's why I just stick to my calorie/carb counter book here at home, the dietitian is fine with us using that.

Did the meal plan say 1 serving or maybe did it say .25 serving (which is approx. 45 calories)?

I don't use the meal planner. I do like being able to use what i ate and do add some myself. I also have some groups, like potato soup, egg sandwich

I just checked on the USDA database and 14 halves (1 ounce) is definitely 185 cals. So just go by that.

Something like "14 halves" is not a great way to measure. Are ALL walnuts the same size? Of course not. The reason they say 14 walnut halves is because the USDA has determined that 1 ounce of walnuts is about 14 halves. So go by the ounce measurement instead. And for better accuracy (definitely a good thing in a high-calorie food like walnuts!) use grams. So 28 grams of walnuts have 185 calories.

ETA: Actually 28 grams of walnuts have 183 calories. hehehe.

I go by what a serving is on the bag of walnuts, and it comes out pretty muc what it is on the counter. I think mine went by 1/4 cup. I am not sure, because I ate all my walnuts.

Has anyone else noticed that 14 walnuts halves (when you put in the amount in the nutrition calculator) are actually 185 calories and NOT 45 that are indicated in the meal plan? What's up with that?
