What is you calorie range? Are you logging ALL your food?

I just dont understand im working out but my weight is staying the same and how do i get rid of my stomache, mainly the pouch my kids gave me im not going to give up i just need some help. Thanks a lot

I was the same - all belly! I lost 65lbs total, and it wasn't until probably the last 30lbs that it started coming off of there. Eventually it will have to! Your body will need to burn the fat from somewhere, and if that's all that is left, that's where it will come off. Keep up the great work!

ditto on everyone's comments-walking is what really helps me-the more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn, so don't forget the strength, swim, hike-all things that move those large muscles... emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

The fact that you are steadily losing weight is a huge success! Don't underestimate that just because you're not seeing the results in certain parts of your body yet. Celebrate the weight that you've lost this far, as well as any fitness milestones that you are making (being able to work out longer/harder/etc.), and the results will start to show! You'll start to see changes in the way that your clothing fits and how your look with time.

Also, do you have a body measuring tape? Just because you can't see a lot of weight loss in your belly and hips yet doesn't mean small changes aren't happening. Taking your measurements once a month is a great way to keep up with those changes that aren't 100% obvious (but that are every bit as important!)

Murphy's Law on Weight Loss says,"the first place a person wants to lose weight is the last place it comes off". Never fails.

As Coach Nancy mentioned, we can't spot reduce areas of our bodies we don't like. It would be great if we could, but we can't. However, if you continue to eat right, watch your portions and get some regular exercise that includes some strength training, you will see a decrease with time. And I am going to encourage you to do some strength training if you aren't. Add lean muscle because muscle burns fat. the more lean muscle you carry, the more efficient your body will be at burning fat. Also, a good strength training program could help you lose 1-2 clothing sizes without changing the scale. I can assure you that you will not look like a body builder if you lift a heavy weight. that is a misconception. Women don't pack on muscle the same way men do, BUT we both benefit from the strength training workouts.

Try to be patient with yourself and your body. You didn't gain the weight overnight, it's not coming off overnight. Patience, it's a virtue.

Hi Diane,

Determination and perserverance are going to be your two best bets. Unfortunately we cannot spot reduce-- in other words specifically targeting an area of the body to shrink the fat cells. And remember that it can take as long as 8 weeks for the changes to show up on the scale and a little longer to show up in the way our clothes fit. However, this is a lifestyle, therefore, when you learn to incorporate healthy habits in your life, you will never have to be on another diet.

hi all
can anyone help me, i exersice every day watch my calories and never go over,i do lots of streches and toning and running , i am pretty new to sparks and i am losing weight steadly but it will not come off my middle body i am getting so dishearted as i work a 50+ hour week every day come home and exersice but stomach and hips wont budge,,,my husband has just ordered me a tredmill to help me

can anyone give me tips to lose my big belly and even bigger hips please please please help
