Cool! I kinda thought I had changed my metabolism and that was the reason why, but I didn't want to get my hopes up. It seems like I can go about two to three days without vigorous exercise, but I have to remain active. Like running errands where I'm in and out of my car or walking from store to store. I always make sure I do lots of walking at a pretty good pace, similar to what I do on the treadmill. That must be the after-burn I keep hearing about. I know i'm eating well because I stick to the SP diet plan or at least eat something comparable. I'm trying not to eat anything past 7pm, unless it has little to no carbs or fat.

Thank you so much for your insight and kind words ladies!! I'm so glad we're all on the same team.

Awesome job! You don't need to go to the gym to be fit. The reason why this is working for you now is probably due to a couple of factors. You are using SparkPeople to track your calories and fitness so you can compare calories in to calories out. You have also changed your metabolism. Contrary to popular belief your metabolism is not static it is dynamic and you can change it through healthy foods and exercise.

My adult children so the P90X work out and have great results. You can start with P90 which isn't so hard, but it does add muscle which helps burn more calories.

I'm now down 75 lbs as of today. I began in May 2011 at 285 and today weighed in at 210. At first I exercised about 30 min a day and the lbs dropped really fast. I then hit a few walls along the way but was able to break thru by going up to 2 hrs exercise a day. This included burning 250 calories on the treadmill, then about 125 each on the elliptical and step machine, as well as strength training for about 30 min. Now everytime I go to the gym I gain a lb. Whenever I do a simple video for about 45 min, I hardly break a sweat, but always manage to lose at least a lb. Not that I'm complaining or anything. I love it! I just feel really guilty for not going to the gym and working till my clothes are drenched in sweat.

Why is this working for me now?
