Sometimes cutting back too much can be the culprit as well as some of the other reasons already given. Also the MOST common reason for getting stuck is that you are not accurate in your tracking, measuring, weighing, of foods or timing your exercise. If the gain is only 2 pounds and it only lasts for a single week, it might easily be a simple fluctuation that will go away without doing much about it.
If you keep doing what has BEEN working and it starts working again, you know you are on track, if it doesn't work, check the other things, including sodium. You have lost quite a bit and maybe you need to lower your calorie ranges a little now. Try re-running your whole weight tracking program - seeing what SP recommends NOW compared to when you started.
I don't know much about a lot. But I went up in weight and it doesn't seem fair to have to work off what I already lost but I guess sometimes it happens. It's been 3 weeks and I have cried, exercised more and stayed on the right path. Some days I thought the same to much salt and cut that the next week increased to high end of my range of calories and like I said the exercise. 3 weeks of why why why and I lost all that came from no where!! Good luck and like the great people at Spark said if we you are doing everything right your health is better and it will happen. GOOD LUCK it will come off.

I try to aim for 1350-1400 cal but this week it's been about 1300. It seems marginal but I figured it out and it adds up to an additional 350 cals/week plus I racked up an extra 30 mins cardio this week and then another extra 40 mins of intense jump rope, shooting hoops, kicking a soccer ball and playing with a ball and racket (playing with my kids) so an extra 500ish cals burned this week through exercise but that was yesterday and the weight gain occured before that. So I doubt it had anything to do with eating too low for what I'm burning.
It is seeming like my sodium intake is the culprit so I'm going to take extra care this week to ensure I stay within my rec. range and see what happens.

I think you may be right in regards to your sodium intake. Try cutting back on that and seeing what happens. Also, what is your overall daily caloric intake right now? You may not need to deduct an additional 50 calories from your day. I would definitely keep up with the cardio, though - that definitely can't hurt! :)

I have been racking my brain to figure out why I gained 2 lbs this week. At first I figured it was just fluctuation even though I never really experience it on the scale because I weigh first thing in the morning before I eat or drink anything. I'm not due for my cycle for another 2 weeks either. I haven't had any weight stall before and this is the first week I've not only experienced no weight loss by weight gain that wasn't attributed to my cycle.
The only thing I can think of looking at my nutrition tracker is that my sodium has been above my rec. range. between 2400-2900 mg. Yikes. Could this be why? The other thing I've done different is eat about 50 cals less than usual and throw in a little extra cardio (not much, just an extra 30 mins this week) but I didn't think it would have much overall effect either way.
I'm really leaning toward the sodium because I'm usually pretty good at staying in my range. Or is it possible I need to up my cal range because I'm getting close to my goal weight and need to tell my body it's ok to shed more pounds? Is it too soon to tell?
