I recently read the book Wheat Belly and thought it was very interesting. I don't mean to push this book but if nothing works, you might like to read it or check out the information, there's a site about Wheat Belly.

That's a low calorie intake for that much working out. I would seek the advice of a spark people nutritionist. When I have had questions they were promptly answered. Good luck! emoticon

Make sure your calories burned goal is set up to reflect what you are burning in a typical week. This page has info on how to do that:
. Updating that to reflect what you are actually doing will make sure your nutrition goals are updated for that level of activity you are doing.

Additionally, if you haven't updated your weight goal page in a while, then it would be a good idea to update that. This page has the basic info on how to do that:
- really what you need to do is to make sure all your info on that page is current and correct and then save your changes to that page. By saving your changes, it will then update your nutrition goals accordingly as well.

As far as I know, yes. I've recalculated a number of times to make sure that I'm not eating too little, and I never feel hungry, or like I'm starving myself . . . I mean, I'd totally eat more if it meant I'd still lose weight. hahaha But I'm pretty sure I'm in the right range. Is there a more concrete way to check this?

Are you making sure you are getting ENOUGH calories? Have you accounted for your higher activity levels when figuring out how much you need to eat? If you don't get enough calories, your body will go into "starvation mode" and weight loss won't happen.

Here's the sitch:

Last summer, I had a fairly serious accident, and was off my feet for about two months. This, combined with a few other life setbacks, led to increased sadness, and, my biggest vice - eating. In two months of bed rest, I packed on 30 extra pounds - yikes. Not to mention that when I was back on my feet, it took awhile before I could attack my exercise routine at full steam. I spent most of the year lamenting my weight gain, and not doing anything about it.

SO, come Spring, when everyone was excited about the warm weather, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started tracking calories, and exercising everyday. But, it's been about 40 days, and I'm seeing no results. Am I doing something wrong? Here's my profile:

28 year old female
5' 1"
175 pounds
Calorie intake - between 1200 and 1500 per day; never more than 1800 on "bad days"
Exercise - 30 Day Shred (every day for the full video; high intensity at all three levels) - this is in addition to trying to walk for errands, etc. as much as possible

I've restarted the 30 Day Shred in the morning, and have added in a 30 minute high intensity aerobic routine in the evenings - two videos per day. I rarely skip a workout, and the foods I'm eating are in tune with the food pyramid - lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and balanced portions from the other three groups.

My arms are looking a little nicer, but the scale won't budge, and my stomach is looking as flabby as anything. What am I doing wrong? Tips, advice, words of encouragement - all are welcome here.
