Yes, you would need to track ahead to use the grocery list feature (the past items would/should have already been consumed). Some people like to plan ahead and track their items beforehand so they stick to the plan. You always have the option to remove an item from your tracker if you don't end up eating it.

I think that's what I was missing. So you are saying you are supposed to track future entries to make the grocery list work? I thought the point of the tracker was to enter food as you consume it.

The shopping list is basically for things that you need to purchase for future meals, which is why you are only able to do that for today and forward. If you enter your food into your tracker for the week, the shopping list will update with all the info needed for that week.

I just prefer to use the grocery list apps on my smart phone. That way, I always have the list with me when I shop and it is quick and easy to find.

Talking about grocery lists, I'm obviously missing something. If I click on "Grocery list for the week" on the Track my food page, it only allows me to choose a timeframe from today forward, so that the only items it picks up are whatever I've entered for today. Am I missing the whole point of the grocery list? Is there a help topic on it, you can point me towards? Thanks.

Are you wanting to only show what you are planning on eating rather than the meal plans? If that is the case, you can go to your Nutrition Tracker page and near the top of the page, roll your mouse over Tracker options and click on Don't Show Meal Plans. That will then remove our meal plans and the grocery list will only populate what you enter into your tracker page.

I hope that helps!

using this site. I've used the recipe pages to create a week of meals I would eat (tofu and chick peas aren't happening in my house!) I would like to print out a grocery list using the meals I planned, not the generic feta cheese salad generic grocery that pops up if I use the links on the main page.
Any advice?
