Thank you so much for answer re: shallots/green onions.

Your information is quite helpful and informative. Now I'll have to try the chives. Love garlic, onions.

Will try making a soup with leeks.

Hello!... Green onions and scallions are the same thing. Yes you can add green onions to salads if you like. Chives are their sister (which are much smaller), and just a sprinkle of chives is very decorative and tasty too..

Now.. think... garlic cloves, then shallots, then onions...

soo.. if you are someone that likes the taste of garlic and onions, shallots might be good for you because shallots are a cross between the two. So rather than mince up onions and garlic, you can mince the shallots and get a nice cross between the two..

in the grand scheme of things it goes like this.. chives, green onion (Scallion), leek, onion, shallots, garlic.... they are all in the same family just depends on how much onion garlic flavour you like... :) Chef Moose_EH

Nevermind (below post)!! I just found out I needed to enter a code from the cookbook and the new recipes appear in the search in the food tracker. Sooooo happy with this purchase!

I just bought the SP cookbook yesterday, and I really like it. But, I'm having trouble tracking the recipes in the book. Just had the Egg-white Omelet with Spinach and Mushrooms.. and couldn't find it in the recipe finder.

I purchased this book rather than another healthy cookbook because I thought it would be really easy to track. I find the recipe creator function tedious.. I hate having to log "1/2 tsp salt, 1 tbsp oil, 1/4 small onion...etc." It almost deters me from tracking when I cook at home.

Does anyone know how to track the recipes in the cookbook without physically typing them in?

Haven't purchased yet, but I plan to. I have another Spark cookbook, and it has great recipes and ideas.

Yes I bought the SP Cookbook. The recipes are excellent and easy to follow. I've tried the Egg-White Omelet, Roasted Root Vegetables, Mac and Cheese and Miso Vegetable Soup. Give them a try! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Are green onions and shallots the same thing?

Why do some recipes use green onions (shallots) vs regular onions?

Can you use green onions (shallots) in a salad?

I'm new at cooking for myself and did not find an answer in new SP Cookbook? Or did I miss this in a note or tip? emoticon emoticon

Anyone have the Spark Cookbook? If so, do you like/use it?
