That's a great idea as well. Must repeat "Body, I'm filling you with fruits and veggies. Say YUMM"

That's a great idea actually. I just bought myself a little notebook and every week I plan to write small little goals, mostly ones that I can build upon. Nothing feels better than ticking off a little To-Do box!

I know what you mean about the "panic mode". Maybe instead of telling yourself "i'll eat less" you can try "i'll eat more fruit and vegetables". Five to nine servings a day is recommended. Nine is the high end, and to me that is what you should shoot for if you are trying to lose weight. Because, it is a lot easier to keep from overeating when you are full from nine servings of nutrient-rich fruits and vegetables. Also, make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Try drinking a glass of water before each meal, and one in between meals. And as far as exercise, start with something that is easy to do as a routine. Look at your schedule and decide when you will be able to fit in a walk (or a swim, or dancing, or whatever exercise you like). Then do it, even when you don't want to. If you keep doing it, it will get better.

Welcome! The best advice I can give is to use the resources available here. The best, I think, are the nutrition and fitness trackers. Those two are what got me to where I am now and I am so very thankful for them.

Best of luck to you!

Welcome to Spark. I see that you are concerned about remember everything. One trick that worked for me is is choosing one or two goals (exercise for 20 minutes and eat a high fiber breakfast, for example) and doing just those until they are second nature and then adding another goal.

glad you are here,

Just want to say Hello!

I'm new to Spark People. I'm 22, live in The Bahamas, young professional and a serial dieter, tried weight watchers, atkins, the whole 9 yards and NOTHING seems to work. The minute I say I'll eat less, my body hits panic mode and I get so damn hungry!

I'm not a sociable person but I'm going to try this social thing. Maybe it'll help with the weight loss. My biggest problem is remembering everything- how to exercise, what to eat, what to do, how to do it- whilst trying to come home before 10PM.
