I have sweet binge problems, so instead of binging on the sweets, I try to turn it into binging on exercise....If I need sweets for my 'metabolism' (yes a necessity), I just take a spoonful of plain sugar...not too inviting, but cures the need temporarily-that or a starlight mint-10 calories....

Based on what I'm reading, you are doing everything right but not losing?

Have you had metal levels and stuff checked? Have you gone to holistic doctors? Sometimes they find something that is a level that is slightly off and can cater a solution that is natural that will help you lose the weight that you need to, and it will come easily!!!

I, too, have problems staying consistently motivated. I just seem to have periodic meltdowns in which my program train goes completely off the rails. Then I just binge for days, feel guilty for weeks, but eventually I come back around and get back on track again. I know what I should do when the meltdowns occur, but can't seem to make it all the way back around until the binge is over.

Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow. – Ralph Waldo Emerson emoticon

I really try to stay positive, but it's super difficult today. I have been struggling for years. I only gain weight and have not lost despite my on going efforts. I have tried everything. I have tried supervised programs. I have gone to doctors. Today, I was given the results of a battery of tests. It turns out that there is nothing medically wrong with me. I'm just obese without an explanation. I offered the doctor my Sparkpeople printouts for the last year. I offered a ten year history of my efforts. Besides the stunned look on her face as I cried my heart out, she offered that "running helps me personally." (Despite the fact that I had already mentioned to her that I ran a half marathon, and 5 Ks every summer.)
Essentially, I have exhausted the professional advice arena. I lack enthusiasm for continuing to record every food drop that I eat and worrying if I exercise enough. The stress of it all is maddening.
