Welcome to Spark. You have taken the first step on your journey by joining! I've been a member a little more than two years. I made fantastic progress and lost 100 pounds in the first year BUT I became careless about nutrition and exercise and have gained 30 back! I became disgusted with myself and closed my Spark account, but soon realized I NEEDED to be here. I'm back using the nutrition and exercise trackers now - they are so important. I joined about one month ago, used it, lagged, but never joined the message boards. I was successful in the past when I had support. I plan to start using the boards to keep myself motivated. The hard part for me is when I get home from work, I am just wiped and hungry and end up choosing the wrong things or just eating to much. I also have been slacking on my exercise, but I love to workout, just have been too tired. It is a winter lack of daylight thing, so hoping to improve again.
About me, I am a working mom, my daughter will be 18 in 2 months and getting ready for college, so soon I will be an empty nester (only one daughter). She has also come out of the closet recently and is dating a lovely girl. It was a surprise, but of course I accept who she is no matter what. My husband had a little more trouble adjusting, but he has. My dad passed one year ago, he had been sick forever. So I have a lot of stress and i have been eating instead of working out and need to change that behavior.
