I agree with those who say small, achievable goals. Perhaps walk 10 minutes per day and start a streak. The exercise will help reduce stress and help you cope. Choose another little goal. Add one more serving of fruits or veggies a day. Maybe drink one more glass of water each day.

I used to be a big stress eater and then I found when I ate small healthy meals 6 times per day I could manage my hunger. When I wasn't as hungry, I could cope without turning to food a whole lot better. Truly, try eating enough good healthy food and see if the stress eating is much easier to overcome.

It isn't always easy, but it is worth it. Give it a try. You are worth it!!

Definitely use small achievable goals ie. no pop. When you conquer that move to 8 glasses of water a day etc.

Good luck

Welcome to SparkPeople and congratulations on taking the steps toward a healthier you!! Stress is in all of our lives - it is up to us for how we cope. Here is an article from our resource center that may help -

Start small in your changes so that you don't burn out before you truly have a chance to begin. Changing our habits is something we are all capable of...but I think often times we don't forgive ourselves as easily as we would forgive a friend.

Good luck with your journey and keep us posted on your success!!

Be well,
