If you have access to a sewing machine, you could easily take in the sides of some garments. Look for tutorials online if you're not sure how. Basically you just put the clothes on, mark how much you want to take in with pins, take it off, and sew down the side. Some items you might have to deconstruct completely, which is harder.

If you're not good at sewing, you might ruin a couple things the first few times you try.. Just a warning. :)

Oh, wow, I am right there with you! I have been going through this for months, sorting out too-big clothes, trying to buy a few new ones, and wanting to wear clothes that fit cuz I have lost enough weight to have a bit of vanity! I want it to show! Be patient, especially if you can't afford new stuff! It was suggested that I try a resale shop for less expensive clothes ... I haven't yet. I even blogged about this issue, so feel free to go read my blogs on my Spark Page! Hang in there - it gets worse as you lose more - LOL!!! - but then it gets better!

So, I have such mixed emotions today!

I just spent an hour and a half trying on clothes- desperate to find something to wear! I've lost 16 pounds-which I'm thrilled about, but I can't seem to put an outfit together that both looks good and FEELS good anymore. Most of what I have getting too big, but I still have clothes that fit. My 'go-to' outfits are gone. It seems like the clothing that fits is mismatched; stuff that doesn't really go together. I'm not ready to go out and spend a lot of money on clothes right now since I actually do have pieces that fit AND...I hope to continue the weight loss.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to seem to be complaining. I am happy to be on this path, but I'm looking for ideas that might help with the transition. Garage Sales, Thrift stores...any other ideas? What have you done to make it through this transition? emoticon
