I like them. My son does too. My daughter hates the way they make the house smell when cooking. I am going to try mom2ian's vineagar suggestion.

Love them! Wasn't sure they'd be my thing, even though I like kale -- but I really do enjoy them.

I like kale, so I was surprised that I did not like kale chips. But, I usually prefer plain fruits and veggies.

I seem to get kale every week in my CSA box, so I make them occasionally. A little olive oil and sea salt and they are good to go. They do come out of the oven sometimes looking like dried up autumn leaves you might see on the ground (LOL), but they are tasty. Because of their appearance, the Hubs isn't interested in even trying them. They do crumble easy and that may be due to the variety I've used... not a curly kale, but a flatter leafed one, but that's what I get, so that's what I use.

First time I tried them... I thought.. eh. But, the second time... I loved them. My sister-in-law has made them every time.

I'm going out and buying some Kale to make some for a snack! I can't wait to try it with garlic and parmesan and apple cider vinegar!

RICCILYNN - what about them was it that you didn't like? perhaps the texture was off?

I made some over the weekend after a coworker was raving about them and I did not like them at all. I followed her directions and they did not come out good at all. So not a fan.

I like them with the vinegar too! Very good and addictive!

Love them! Because I'm a salty/crunchy junkie I think I've made kale chips at least 8 times in the last two weeks. I just use Pam and sea salt - and bake in the oven.

Love kale chips. Made some chocolate sesame ones a few weeks ago. A lot better than it may sound. I also dehydrate my kale rather than roast in oven. Can make mexican, italian, curry and lots of other things.

I've only made them a couple of times and I really liked them. After eating some, I put the rest in a container to save for another day. They didn't save too well.

YES, kale chips!! I'm so excited to try everyone's seasoning suggestions. Thank goodness I have kale in my fridge.

I love kale chips! I make them simple with olive oil and sea salt in the oven. The husband and kids DO NOT like, and give me a hard time when I cook them because of the smell. I love the smell, but I get the rolling eyes and "Mom's making kale chips again" comments from them. LOL They do leave a very strong and kind of gross after taste in your mouth, so be sure you have a drink or a toothbrush if you are running off to a meeting or something. :)

Yes--I like to make them with coconut oil.

You can make them sweet (add a little brown sugar, honey, brown rice syrup, etc.) and add cinnamon, nutmeg, coconut, etc.

Are they still bitter after roasting?

I do mine with sea salt, garlic and parmesan cheese. They are so addictive, I can eat a whole bunch of kale in a day when I make them this way (and I usually do!). Lucky for me my fiance hates them! I think they make the house smell a bit funny when they're baking, but I can live with that considering how yummy they are!

I saw Hungry Girl make them and thought it a little over the top but after reading everyone's post I have to rethink my position on Kale Chips!

Make them at least weekly! This week I made salt & vinegar!
I buy the pre chopped from Trader Joe's, for convenience sake...poured some apple cider vinegar directly in the bag and shook it around. Drained it and dumped the kale on a sprayed cookie sheet and added some sea salt...
Low and slow in the 250 oven...they were amazing!

My family absolutely adores kale chips. We could easily go through a head a day (but that gets expensive!). I massage in a bit of olive oil, then lay on the dehydrator sheets and sprinkle a bit of salt. 115-125 for 12 hrs makes outstanding chips!

Me, I love them. I toss torn kale with a little olive oil, bake them and add a little sea salt. Yummy!
