Keep in mind 3500 calories equal 1 lbs and you just said you are eating 1500 less each day, and you are probably being intentional about your physical activity meaning you are also burning more calories. So yeah the math is right. Good work. The first couple of weeks are usally the biggest transformation, so don't be discouraged if in a couple of weeks your weight loss isn't as dramatic.

Good morning spark community,
I'm a newbie as I just started following the spark-diet and exercising on Thursday the 11th @ 201.0 pounds.
I am a scale slave (I'm working toward stopping this) so I hopped on the scale Sunday and it said 196.2. I figured it was just dehydration from all the wine I had Saturday night but after hydrated all day and ate right up to my 1550 calories I'm allowed; this morning the scale still said 196.2.
I don't want to get my hopes up but then again I do. I went form eating around 3000 calories a day to the 1550 and I am really hoping the scale isn't just playing with my mind but is it possible that I've really lost nearly 5 pounds already?
I know this won't be an every week occurrence but it sure makes me hopeful that I can stay on track.
Thanks for reading...
