1st- CONGRATULATIONS on the first 5 lbs. You've shocked your body and this is one of the benefits of sticking to your plan.

However, don't fall into the trap of letting the scale determine your victory & start preparing now for what's you are going to do when life gets in the way and you can't follow your program to the letter. Not to be a negative Nelly but, it's important to get prepared so your can keep up the continued success. You my fellow Sparkler are embarking on a great journey.

You are taking great strides to get healthy and I'm sending you the greatest wishes for your success on your Spark journey!!!!!!

Good nutrition and fitness pays off! Even when weight loss is slow (like me), we are still getting healthier. Keep Sparkin'! It's a great way to change your life.

It can happen! Keep up the great work and it definitely won't be a fluke!

Keep in mind 3500 calories equal 1 lbs and you just said you are eating 1500 less each day, and you are probably being intentional about your physical activity meaning you are also burning more calories. So yeah the math is right. Good work. The first couple of weeks are usally the biggest transformation, so don't be discouraged if in a couple of weeks your weight loss isn't as dramatic.

Good morning spark community,

I'm a newbie as I just started following the spark-diet and exercising on Thursday the 11th @ 201.0 pounds.

I am a scale slave (I'm working toward stopping this) so I hopped on the scale Sunday and it said 196.2. I figured it was just dehydration from all the wine I had Saturday night but after hydrated all day and ate right up to my 1550 calories I'm allowed; this morning the scale still said 196.2.

I don't want to get my hopes up but then again I do. I went form eating around 3000 calories a day to the 1550 and I am really hoping the scale isn't just playing with my mind but is it possible that I've really lost nearly 5 pounds already?

I know this won't be an every week occurrence but it sure makes me hopeful that I can stay on track.

Thanks for reading...
