Hi folks, how was your weekend?

I did a little bit of walking (and some toting of heavy bags, which was a little like weight-training) over the long weekend.

Lost a bit since day 1, and that makes the effort worthwhile at this early point in my journey.

How are all of you?

Hi M/A! Hi Holly!

Yay! You've both made me smile this morning. Thanks for posting a response! You've made my day.

Let's see, what can I tell you about me in the way of getting acquainted?

I live in the intermountain west, and oh - speaking of mountains, the sunrise this morning was awesome! Pink clouds covered a good portion of the eastern sky, but I was surprised to see pink in the west too. It was so beautiful. One day I'll figure out how to transfer pictures from my blackberry to the computer so I can show you how beautiful the Wasatch Mountains are.

I work a full-time job as a secretary, and spend most of my day on the computer (working), but I also snatch time to read and respond to e-mail. That has constituted my break time for the longest while - until I took up walking again just a few weeks ago. Tomorrow evening I have a "date" at the gym with a trainer to see if I can work workouts into my schedule, which shouldn't be too difficult now. I just broke off with a man I've been seeing for two years. It's odd to have my weekends free after that long (this will be my third). He wanted to get married and I do not feel the same. That's not to say I didn't give our relationship a good go. I did! But it didn't feel at all as though marrying him was the right decision for me. So my plan is to try and focus on me this summer and to try and figure out what I should be doing in life. And focusing on me includes losing some weight.

How 'bout you? What brought you to Spark?

I joined on Monday, I'm fired up to work hard and lose weight, and I am looking for a friendly thread on which to make some friends that I can look forward to visiting with on this journey. I haven't found any yet. The friends I used to "hang" with are no longer here, and hooking up with new ones it appears, is going to be a real challenge. I was lucky then, I was hoping to be so lucky again.

Is there anyone out there who wants to get acquainted?
