Once per week is plenty enough for me! emoticon

The answer is different for each person. I started out 3 days per week and built up to 4-5 days depending on my schedule. I also changed things up by adding Zumba. Fortunately, the owner of Curves where I work out teaches Zumba at no added cost three times a week. I weigh in once a month because I can get to focused on the scale and forget what my main goal is: Strength, endurance, energy and a healthy life. Listen to your body and go at your own pace.

Cardio 3x week for minimum of 30 minutes per session....weigh in weekly or bi-weekly. If you are obsessed with the scale, have someone hide it until it is weigh in time!

Hi, I am currently doing cardio 3 days a week and working up to 6 days a week and weigh myself once a month. Once a month probably won't be enough for anybody else but it works for me. When I was doing WW a few years ago I was OBSESSED about weighing myself. Doing it once a month is helping me focus on my health (not weight loss) and helps me see non-scale accomplishments.

The answer to both questions is actually different for everybody, so I cant tell you one way or another.

About the cardio, it is much better to do it consistently, so it becomes a part of your daily habits. If you do too much and then quit because it's too hard, then that is too much. You can certainly start with three times a week, and if you feel you want to add more, go for it - but keep in mind that if you realize that it's too much, just back off the extra workouts until you feel like you can try again. Don't give up completely.

Weighing in is such a personal choice. There are those who don't weigh in at all, because the scale has the power over them to dictate how they will feel for the rest of that day. Weight can fluctuate as much as five pounds throughout the day, depending on so many factors (hormones, hydration, sodium intake, etc). Once a week is often enough when you are starting out.

Best wishes on your journey ahead. We are here for you!

I only weigh myself once a week, as many other do, and I go to the gym 3 times a week, and do both cardio and weights. emoticon

Hi! I weigh myself once a week, and from what I can tell that's a pretty normal schedule for most dieters. Personally, I normally do cardio about 5 times a week. I think that's more of a personal decision depending on how you're feeling. Don't push yourself too hard, but if you feel up to doing more, then I don't think there'd be a problem with it. Good luck!

Hi, all! I just started up again and I'm feeling much more positive about my chances of succeeding this time around. I just have a couple of questions:

1. How often should I do cardio? I know the rule is thrice a week, but if I feel up to doing more, can I? Or is it really that important for me to rest for a day between workouts? I'm just worried that I'll burn out if I do too much too quickly. What's your experience?

2. How often should I weigh myself? I've currently scheduled myself to do it once a week. Is that too often? Not often enough? What do you think?

Thanks for reading and responding!
