I've had a turkey burger for lunch for the past 3 days. Yummo!

I should add that I do give in to cravings, but I do make sure it fits w/i my calorie count.

I splurge on the weekends but if I am craving a burger during the week I will go for a kids meal.

I am cooking 4 oz. turkey burger made with taco seasoning, onions, egg and 2 crackers for a binder. I will have mine plain and DW will have hers in a bun,

I had my burger from Rallys along with my small fry and shared soda with my husband. I did not go for a dollar burger as that would have not done anything for me, they are tasteless. I wanted a burger with the works such as tomato, lettuce, and onion. I had it feeling guilt free and got right back on track. I had a light dinner and skipped a snack. Today I am crave free. Eating at home was not an option as we were going to be out and about, plus I wanted ground beef and there is only one time I have ground beef and that is when I go out to have a burger no ground beef gets cooked in my house except maybe once a year for a family gathering bbq on my outside grill.

Ok forget the pepsi, forget the french fries, remove the bun, don't add cheese pair it with a side salad and water and it is actually a nice lunch. I am just too close to goal to be able to give into cravings. You just have to do what works for you.

you should make a bison/buffalo burger. Very low in fat and calories than regular ground beef. Andf still makes a mighty tasty burger! Just be careful not to over cook it. Bison cooks more quickly than regular beef.

I try to work my cravings in at regular meals. There are times when I have a sudden craving and I find myself reworking my days menu to give in to it.

This is probably an old response and you probably already ate that burger and if you did... food for you!! I am not at all a believer in deprivation.... a little can go a long way. You may have even found just eating part of the burger was enough to satisfy the craving and if not well then eat the whole thing, be done with it a move on. Just don't do it every day and you will be fine!!

I truly think that you have to give in to your cravings, at least to some degree - otherwise, I obsess over the food I want and find my other food unsatisfying until I have it. If I just allow myself some of what I want, the craving goes away and I can stay on track.

I think your planning is good. I do the same thing. Too much deprivation leads to humungous overeating.

I strongly feel that we should listen to our bodies, If you are craving that burger and deny yourself, you might eat "all the way around it" eating more calories by trying to avoid it than you would if you just ate the darned thing! I recommend a small one, though. It sounds like you are going fast food. Get the $1 burger for only about 300 calories. emoticon

Thank you BLUENOSE I will do that. I drink plenty of water but need to get back in the habit of a full glass of water down before every meal. Thanks for the reminder :)

You should have a burger if you want but try drinking a large glass of water before lunch to fill you up a little

I have been doing really well. These past few days I have been craving a burger. I almost gave in last night to go get one, but I did not. I decided today Ii will have one at a decent hour. I will have it for lunch and have a light dinner. I will have it with small a small fry and a few sips of regular Pepsi. Do you sometimes feel you should give into what you want to avoid a binge by eating other things to mask a craving? I really thought back and in my past if did not meet a craving I would snack on this and that in hopes of satisfaction and then consuming more calories, and sometimes even topping it off with what I was craving at the end anyways. I have learned to give into cravings once in while and it works out wonderfully well for me, I eat what I am craving then get even stronger into my daily healthy lifestyle. How do you deal with cravings?
