I second coach's suggestion....I have/had acid reflux and it's nothing to mess with.

An RD can help you with "elimination eating" to figure out what your triggers are.

After my initial (and by far worst) attack, I think it was 30 days until I felt good, and another 30 until it was completely gone.

I'd recommend asking your doctor for a referral to a registered dietitian. That person can help create a meal plan specific to your needs.

I have inflammation from my esophagus down into my intestines and after numerous CTs, MRIs, and GI scopes, all the doctor's can tell me is that it's GERD. Problem is - none of the medicines they've put me on have made any improvement. My GI doc thinks that instead of stomach acid, she thinks it might be bile causing the problem (because this all started after my gall bladder was removed). Gross!

So long story short (too late!), I have to be VERY careful about what I eat because so many foods exacerbate the inflammation. The worst foods have been tomatoes, onions, and just about any type of acidic fruit. Can anyone give me recommendations for some GERD friendly fruits? Anyone want to share their stories of magma-chamber tummy (as I like to call it)?
