VADAVICTORIA,

Be VERY careful when running on sand. The reason, because it is a very unstable surface there is a tendency to put a lot of strain on the foot, ankle, calves and most importantly the Achilles tendon. As a 6 year runner, I would not run on sand for more than 30 seconds at a time...too much potential risk for an injury!

Running! Running in sand is a lot harder, and easier on the joints!

So glad you asked this as I am headed to the beach Wednesday and would love to get some ideas.

Going on vacation next week. Was looking for ideas for exercises I can do on the beach! :) Please share your favorites! I'm so excited - I can't wait to run on sand.
