I try to do it every couple of weeks. I get too depressed if I don't see some positive change on the scale so every day is frustrating. I really do it when I think of it as I don't have the scale sitting right out where I stare at it all the time. I try to use how I feel and how my clothes fit as a better indicator.

I weigh myself about every three weeks. It drives me crazy because the scale hasn't budged for 3 months, so I took some advice from SP and I don't let the scale get to me. I have 10 more pounds to lose so it is going to go super slow, but I am still losing inches & went from a 12 to a size 10 without losing a pound. Just inches from exercising.

I weigh every day but only record it once a week. My body weight doesn't fluctuate much from day to day, so seeing the number every day really helps me stay on track and evaluate what happened if the number goes up. And if it does go up, that gives me time to get it back down before my "official" weigh in.

I'm another that only weighs once or twice a month. I found that the weekly fluctuations were really affecting my mood and could be quite discouraging. Weighing in once a month means I always see a loss on the scales, never a gain, no matter how small. It just feels much more positive and I concentrate more on non-scale goals. emoticon

I weigh every morning, but I only write it down once a week. It helps to keep me on track to step on that scale each morning. Plus, I am generally lighter in the morning so it helps me start off motivated.

I weigh every day usually--sometimes I forget--first thing in the morning. That way I always know where I stand. However, some people stand by once a week, once a month or not at all! It is a personal decision. Whatever you find works best for you. You should try a couple of methods and then decide.

I track my weight every Monday morning as soon I get up. I weigh throughout the week in the morning at the same time but I recognize this isn't the greatest thing to do. Last Monday I was 130 and today I was 135. I've been within my range and exercised the past 2 days so I know it's just random weight fluctuation.

I weigh every day and take an official weigh in once a week. It helps me to stay on track and be more careful about sodium intake, etc. when I know I'll be seeing it on the scale the next day. I think every day weigh-ins are good as long as you don't get too discouraged by seeing a gain once or twice a week. For example, I have been exercising every day this week, and with the exception of Sunday I stayed in range for my calories. Yesterday I had lost three pounds. Today I was up .8 pounds from yesterday. I just told myself that I had more sodium than I should have yesterday, because to gain almost a pound in a day would mean I would have had to consume 3500 calories above and beyond my basal metabolic rate and my exercise. I know I didn't do that.

I used to be a person who didn't keep a scale, because I was afraid that I would get over obsessed over my weight. After starting on SP, I decided that it was time to get one, so I could measure my weight loss, but I decided that I would only allow myself to do it once/wk at the same time every week.
Sometimes I really want to hop on the scale when I'm feeling like I've been doing really well, but I make myself wait, and this has been a good way to do it.

I am buying a scale this weekend. i think every day will drive me nuts but at the same time it'd be nice to see the number go down consistently.

however once a week would obviously be a greater impact. but daily would then make you more accountable each day.

everyday and look at a 7-day average of the results. that way the highs and lows are taken out.

some studies have shown that people who weigh in everyday are more likely to stay on track.

but do what works best for you. I find that using more than one measurement - i.e., my scale also does bodyfat, how clothes fit, measuring tape - is also more accurate.

Every day and an official weighing once a week. I am less likely then to say at "Official" weigh in for the week that any increase or remaining the same is due to water retention when it isn't.

I usually weigh myself everyday but, i get so mad when I see a fluctuation from day to day. I know that it may be a little water or what I ate. Do you think it is better to weigh in daily or weekly?
