I buy the Trader Joe's "Just a handful" of almonds & eat only .25 of the small bag at a time. It works for me & helps me feel like I getting a lot! I usually only eat .50 of bag a day. That's about18-20 a day. I eat them VERY slowly, scrapping them with my teeth. It takes forever, but they digest well this way! emoticon

Eating too much of anything is not good. Eating a few will work wonders.

Almonds are delicious, but you have to be careful of how many you eat, because they are loaded with "GOOD FAT."

I love almonds. I try to eat them very slowly and always count out servings for myself (7 at a time). I also never put more than one in my mouth at a time. That way you get the benefits of eating them (deliciousness and nutrients!) and can reduce the urge to eat a whole bag. Hope this helps!

Portion control is the key to any healthy fat. Olive oil is healthy, but not if you deep-fat fry your food in it! I've lost weight while consuming almonds, avocado, and olive oil, in controlled amounts.

One trick I have with almonds: I buy the raw almonds and "roast" them myself. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray, then spread a single layer of almonds on the tray. Toast for 5 minutes. You get the yummy roasted flavor without added oils or salt.

I struggled with portion control with nuts in general and eventually figured out which nuts work best for me. I can eat a controlled number of almonds, pecans, and sunflower seeds but not peanuts and cashews, so I tend to stick to the less binge-worthy nuts.

I read Spark articles that encourage eating health fats (nuts) as part of your weight loss diet and it sure worked for me. I figured out a few tricks that keep me from pigging out was able to eat almonds (and a few other nuts, but mostly almonds) while I was losing weight.

Trick #1: Dispense a single serving of almonds (or whatever) into a dish and then put the remaining nuts away, out of sight, before starting to eat. Grazing an open can of nuts is just asking for me to eat an entire can...

Trick #2: Eat them unprocessed, unsalted, and especially unglazed. Portion control is much harder when they're sugar coated.

Trick #3: When eating just nuts, make them last longer and enjoy the flavor and texture better by nibbling on them one at a time.

Trick #4: Eat them combined with other foods. Have almond butter with pretzels, sprinkle slivered almonds or walnuts on your salads, add some nuts to your cereal or yogurt, toss a few almonds on your asparagus. When you're eating multi-ingredient dishes, it's harder to go back and pig out on a single ingredient. And nuts sure make yogurt, salads, and veggie dishes more interesting.

Track, measure, weigh and you will be in control of your food. The best thing I started doing was buying a $7 scale and a second set of measuring cups and spoons. Now I measure out olive oil, salad dressing, ice cream, everything. That is the only way you can know exactly what you are putting in your body.

Eat your almonds!!!!!! They are a superfood. Just eat the non roasted non salted ones because they are healthier and easier to control your portions on. Just count out your serving and enjoy!!! This is a healthy fat.

They are good for you but high in calories so be careful. I decided to start buying them still in their shells to keep me from over eating. As much as I liked to think I can control my portions, if they are easy to eat (and oh so yummy) I know I will over do it. When I have to crack them and then deal with the shells I eat them slower and I am better able to keep to a single serving then I am when I have them all ready to eat in a can.

Eating too much of ANYTHING will make you gain weight. Use your food tracker to keep track of how much food you eat, and how many almonds you can include while still staying in a healthy calorie range.

I often eat a couple ounces as a mini meal when time or conditions don't allow cooking. Also a great snack.

Almonds pack a healthy punch! But you do have to be mindful of the portions. The nice thing about almonds is they are a good source of protein and helps you feel full longer. I just measure my portions because I love almonds.

I eat 9 almonds (or various nuts) daily as a snack. As others have said, it's a healthy fat and is a source of protein. I count them out and take them with me.

Also, a small piece of cheese is another healthy snack. Find what works for you! emoticon

I love almonds. I normally have them (10 grams, mind you) with breakfast a couple days a week. I also eat walnuts in the same fashion. The protein in them are one of the things that help keep me going until the next meal.

Eating more than your body expends, whether almonds, fruit and veggies or candy will lead to weight gain. Just remember that some foods, like almonds, are very calorie dense. In other words, you do not have to eat a lot to consume a lot of calories. Therefore, being mindful of portions is essential to losing/maintaining weight.

It's true, almonds (all nuts) are very high in fat and if you eat too many, yes, you could gain weight. However, nuts are high in a HEALTHY fat that IS good for our bodies. So, don't freak out over the calories in almonds. Almonds are a very healthy snack. The key is to be mindful of the portions since they are high in calorie. I do eat a serving or two of nuts every day.

Weight loss isn't just about cutting calories. QUALITY of the food you eat has a bigger impact. Because when it comes right down to it, weight loss is nothing more than a byproduct of a healthy lifestyle. If you are eating right, watching your portions and getting some regular exercise that includes some strength training, the weight will come off on its own.

i went and check the calories an almond and I found out that thet have lots of calories from fat.
I love almond.
Can t you tell me if eating too many would make gain weight?
