I try to eat dinner by 7 and to not eat anything afterwards. Your body needs 12 hours to burn off all the glycogen before it can burn fat while you sleep, and if you don't give it that much time, you never get to the fat burn.

No, but I do eat 5-6 meals a day so that last one just depends on what's going on in the evening (some days I work out in the evening so for sure I'm going to eat after that). It does not seem to affect me to eat later at night, it seems to matter more what I am choosing to eat.

I don't eat after 8PM unless we're having a late meal with friends or colleagues. Usually my cut off is closer to 7PM but that's not always practical.

I used to get hungry at night but rarely do anymore and I've learned to just make a note of it and let it go.

No not at all. I eat three meals a day and several snacks which I eat when I am hungry. Works for me emoticon

I don't eat or drink after dinner. Not because of the weight issue, but due to GERD. I can't eat for about 3 hours before bed.

I can't, I work a night audit job and I'm taking two classes in the summer, so sleep is too spaz for me to mess with what time I can and can't eat.

I definitely plan on it when classes are done, though! I totally see the benefit, not so much for metabolism as much as to control binges.

I try not to eat a couple hours before going to bed, not because of weight loss or anything but because I'll have bad dreams and unrestful sleep if I go to bed with a full stomach.

Eating at night has been my downfall, so I have been trying to cut that out. I love breakfast, so when I dont snack at night, I wake up nice and hungry..and I love that feeling. Starts my day off right.

I used to do this, but I get so hungry at night. Now I plan a snack for a couple hours after dinner. It seems more effective for me to eat when I'm hungry.

A cut-off point in the evening does help, but I think 6:30 might be too restrictive and therefore hard to maintain..........and remember, you're trying to adopt a new lifestyle so that this has to be behavior that continues always. I give myself a cutoff point of 9pm and usually make that last snack a nice big juicy apple......Great tasting, very filling and extremely healthy.......then I brush my teeth so anything I would attempt to eat after that would not taste so good anyway.

I've started doing that to some degree. Not quitting quite that early (since I'm always still at work then and don't eat dinner until after), but I like the idea of it!

I heard this was Victoria Beckhams secret (not that anyone wants her body, but thats beside the point).

I'm thinking of restricting my eating hours from 7:30am to 6:30pm. This means no food outside these hours unless I'm sick, I need to take my meds (which just means one cracker) or I'm at some special event.

It seems like 20-40% of my daily calories are happening in the evening, so it seems like a good idea to have a cut off point.

Does anyone here do this?
