Grilled fruit (like pineapple, my favorite!) is also a great healthy treat.

another recipe I just tried:
1.5 pounds asparagus 1 cup cherry tomatoes .25 cup parmeson 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 2 teaspoons orange juice 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper
Mix the vinegar, juice, garlic, salt, and pepper together - this can be done before you leave and stored in a small plastic container to make transport easier. Cut all the tomatoes in half and put aside. Grill asparagus for 4-5 minutes (until warm). Plate asparagus, then top with tomato. Pour dressing over the veggies and top with cheese.

Camping is the one spot where I have an easy time dieting. If you have a charcoal grill, dinner ideas that work for me when I camp:
Meat: Grilled Steak Grilled Pork Loin (take a pork loin and slice thickly. makes really nice boneless pork chops. tastes great with a little bit of barbecue sauce, or for a lower cal version, rub with a cajun seasoning blend) Barbecue Chicken Barbecue Shrimp Grilled Shrimp Shishkebobs (I like skewereing steak chunks, mushrooms, onion, and bell pepper, marinate in italian dressing, usually a big hit)
Sides Corn on the Cob (if you get it still in the husk, grill it on a charcoal grill for 10 minutes) mizweria (cucumber salad - there's 2 recipes - the healthier is: thinly slice a cucumber. add apple cider vinegar, season with salt and pepper) fresh fruit lettuce salad grilled zucchini (thinly slice on a diagonal and grill. for a little flavor, season with soy sauce)
Jennie O has Turkey Sausage links that are 160 calories each. Hebrew National 97% Fat Free Hot Dogs has 520mg of sodium, but no additives or nitrates 3 Ounces of pork is 120 calorias....make a pork chop Grill veggies,...zucchini, onions, brocolli, green beans, or eggplant wrapped in tin foil sprayed with olive oil Make a chicken kabab, chicken chunks, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, quartered onions Grill shrimp, white fish Grill a healthy Sweet Potato Grill Apple Slices with cinnamon
Prep all your meals in advance. Know exactly what you are going to eat for each and every meal and snack. That way when it comes time for dinner and everyone pulls out their hot dogs, you can pull out your meal. Fill an entire cooler with just your food, all ready to go!
Try Veggie burgers, turkey burgers and veggie dogs. Get some low fat cheese and stash it for yourself and no one else! Grab a bag of burger thins (really thin burger bun pita type things) and just use one half on the bottom of your turkey burger and load the top with veggies! Pre cut and portion snacks before you leave as well. Drink tons of water and eat more protein in the first half of the day to stay full in the evening.
My favorite camping food is roasted veggies. I just load up everything I have in a tin foil package and drop it on the fire grill, turn it once or twice. So good! I also love grilled cheese and pizza on the fire grill but that might not work if you are off the carbs.

Hey Everyone, I need help. I'm going camping in a few weeks for 5 days and I am kind of scared with my food intake in those days. My diet pretty much consists of very little carbs and a lot of portion control. I spoke to the people I am going camping with and all they are bringing are the typical burgers, hotdogs, chips ect. Do you have any good ideas for camping recipes? I want to bring food but the difference will be is that at home i have time and room to prep my healthy meals, but camping will take away a lot of that. Thanks in advance for you help :)
