I am slow but I give myself too many cheat days. You are not slow. 12 lbs in a month is great. I average 1-2 lbs in a month.

I echo everyone else....12 lbs in one month is no turtle! The recommended weight loss average is 1-2 lbs a week. I have averaged about 5 lbs a month over the last 6 months. You are well above the average suggested loss. I hope it continues for you!

That's actually a lot! Healthy weight loss is an average of 1 to 2 pounds a week across time. That means you may loose more in the beginning and it may slow as you get closer to your goal.

Yes, I am not losing as much as I wanted to. I am busy in my mind probably more then actuality and it causes me to not be focused on myself. I am hoping this changes after the 29th, that is when my daughter is having her wedding ceremony. She is married but now it is time for the ceremonies. I will then focus on myself even though holidays are approaching. I will still do big holidays but make room for my health and wellness.

I've been on SP for 20 months and I've lost only 45 pounds...I still have 35 to lose so it's not "that stubborn last 10", it's just slow and stubborn...but I don't get discouraged, I'm doing the right thing for my body and my health. Every day I'm proving that I will stick with the right choices for the long term, no matter what the scale says.

You are definitely not a turtle! Though I would be more intereted in the average over time. That makes more of a difference!

I've been doing this since Memorial Day and have only lost 10 pounds so I wouldn't call you a turtle!

Try six pounds since first part of June, and it's been up and down - so I'm definitely more a turtle than you. However, we're not here to compare, and, the first part of my journey rewarded me with more weight loss, faster. Of course, I was changing all my eating habits.

Then, when I added exercise regularly, and started to build muscle, it seemed like the weight loss slowed substantially. However, the scale is not the only thing to use as a way to track your progress, and I know I'm healthier, feel better, and fit into clothing I previously had no chance of getting near.

So, good luck to you, and I hope you progress in the manner in which you desire.
But, don't count on large weight loss, consistently.
As the turtle did - slow and steady to the end, and you'll be healthy and happy when you get there.

Slow and steady wins the race. If you loose to fast then you only hurt yourself. Good luck in your journey and enjoy the scenery.

As the other posters have said, you are far from a turtle. You are dropping the weight crazy fast. Don't be discouraged. Slow and steady is the way to's more likely to stay off in the future. You're doing great. Keep eating right and make sure to exercise.

12 pounds in a month! That's no turtle! That's a jack-rabbit running lickity-split.

I am a turtle. I aim to lose 2-3 pounds per month.

12 pounds in a month is at the top of the recommended healthy rate, maybe even a little over. I would not consider you a turtle.

Keep up healthy choices and be happy with a 1 to 2 pound per week loss. It will give you time to allow you to create a lasting healthy lifestyle.
