Am I the only who literally salivates when walking through the bakery department of the grocery store? I have an incredible urge to buy a sweet, any sweet. It's near the bread and I have to walk quickly.
And yes, I love cereal. I'll eat right out of the box too. Frosted Flakes, Honey Smacks, and other sweetened cereals are not allowed in my house!

Am I the only one who.... struggles getting recommended protein each day? It's always hardest to reach.... i'm afraid i might eat too much then after I see my tracker I see I reach my carbs first and my protein last. I still haven't seen one day where I've actually reached m goal protein intake.

I think that eating cereal, especially right out of the box, can be worse than chips! At least eating a "real" snack out of the bag (for me) gets to me quicker. I realize before it's too late how much I'm eating. With cereal though, game over.... And even though I usually just have the "better" cereals (like Special K), too much of any kind is going to be bad. Definitely a struggle!

Yes, I can totally relate to this, especially with the cereal! I have struggled with binge eating off and on...it only seems to come up for me when I'm being too restrictive in my diet and either 1) going too low on calories, or 2) ignoring all cravings and being too strict with the foods I eat.
That being said, cereal is a real trigger food for me and I still really can't eat it in a healthy way. Maybe I just have a mental association, but if I buy a box of cereal and try to eat it "normally" (controlled portion sizes, just one bowl at a time, etc.), I start having binge thoughts within a day or two. Sometimes I don't end up binging, and sometimes I do (though not always on cereal). It's strange.
Anyway, you're not alone in going crazy with a box of cereal. Looking at your food tracker for yesterday, I'm guessing you were just super hungry (no lunch/dinner before the cereal incident). So no worries!!
Do you feel like poo mentally, or physically. I would have to say that you could have done a lot worse. I am not a fan of cereal. I think it causes binges, but it is better than a whole cake..lol. Great rationale , huh?
Just move on, its a bump in the road. The people that finish a marathon in 10 hours are winners just as much as the people who ran it in 2. They just did it a bit more stylishly than you did..lol. The only thought you should have here, besides getting back on track, is why you couldn't stop. What caused it to start? A craving, another food you ate beforehand, or an emotional event. Once you figure out that reason, you can prevent it from happening again.. hopefully. Then just back at it, and that box of cereal will be a memory in a week.
P.S I have done this with with Cocoa Krispies when I weighed 350. I used chocolate milk though instead of skim.. A box of cereal, and a 1/2 gallon of chocolate milk. I topped out at 361. Luckily I am down to 232. Sadly I can't eat that for breakfast anymore..lol, but eating poorly doesn't mean you have to keep doing that, and by eating good most of the time, you can get to your goal weight.
Just binged on a box of cereal?!?!?! I have never done this!! I am a very self control person, but for some reason, today was def not a good day. So what do i do, i grabbed my favorite box of cereal (Honey bunches of Oats) and ate the WHOLE freakin box!! Now i feel like crap. Anyone else experienced this?? Not just with cereal, but with your favorite food?? Hopefully some of you have, because then i won't feel like the only one lol.
